This is a rare question that I got this day, lol... but this question is very helpfull to everyone who never know.. For 1gram of 999 fine gold can dissolve in 3.9ml HCL and 0.95ml HNO3, at azeotrope 68% hno3, at the beginning don't applied heat allow aqua regia to generate their own heat, then if the reaction has slow down applied heat at 40c to 60c be sure to cover your beaker. if the purity of gold 916, 875, 833, 750, and below, consuming much higher because of base metal. This calcultion is not 100% exact due to any circumstances..

Lead easily dissolve any concentration of nitric acid, but Iron dissolve in dilute nitric acid 60% only to avoid passivation..
