The event cameras really put in perspective how hard these people are going because the bicycle camera makes things seem deceivingly effortless.

Was just going to say the same. Cycling commentary from the U.S. has notoriously been abysmal. I'm thinking of grand tours where the commetators were do doubt awesome people who knew the sport, but man oh man, it was hard to listen to. I have never heard a better finishing call of a North American race. The tandom didn't talk over one another and the really excited guy pulled some awesome metaphors out of his sleeve. Top stuff.

Jo Mo Definitely, he was the only rider that was on the yellow for a period of time and he was the only one that nearly slipped out.

I remember watching it live those last two laps where crazy and from watching Simmons and Garrison race in person i knew they would be in the break since they did that at tosh. But seeing the gopro of this is crazy. An Garrison is racing with axeon hagens and his brother is at quick step in the world tour

Love from the east coast, love the cylcling videos just what I need to get it going the blood I love it. I always watch these before I go out and get my body moving. I always watch one of these, and then put up my heavy playlist like Delta Parole, Three Days Grace, System and then I just go haaaaard!!!! Tactic hasnt let me down yet.

I feel like I'd love to see a video about race etiquette for people who want to get into racing. I feel like you could format that well and make sure a new racer doesn't make a complete ass of themself in the pack

I totally agree lol, regardless of how strong I feel on the bike I would be a massive liability in a race like this. I get claustrophobia just watching some of the positioning in the peloton at these speeds! 👍🏻

Great question. Unfortunate truth is that it’s often easier to ride category one and two races because they know the etiquette and Know how to follow a line. Entry level riders are all over the road and I found it very stressful.

Well shoot, I was a spectator there off of Cajon Street! I didn't know about your channel back then, otherwise I would have kept an eye out for the Mike's Bikes jerseys! Excellent commentary by you and Chris... plus, your 17 minutes of video was more entertaining than my curbside view!

Love your videos - Just to show how old I am, I saw Team 7-11 (team Slurpee) race at Redlands They embarrassed everyone there- it was the first time I met Bob Roll - I met him years later at Amgen Tour.

I am a new cyclist (under a year) FTP of around 270-280. Can you make a video on how to train intervals properly to gain on your FTP? I feel as if I am just flogging myself to no avail. Just trying to get these cat upgrades ;(

I actually took your word for it. The last 2 laps I kept thinking: he's gotta go now surely he's way to far back. With one lap to go i was confident everyone was gonna slow down and Chris would do an all or nothing and win. With one turn to go I still thought everyone was gonna crash causing Chris to win. But no. Sad stuffs. Great ride tho ngl

Oh man... I wish! you know how racing goes... sometimes you feel great and 10min later you feel like you might need to stop. I was totally trying to talk myself in to it.. but the end was just a little over my head. The next day on Sunset (95 miles / 9000ft) I sprinted to 7th right behind Noah (Floyds).
