Honestly, i think "that's all you need to know" is a bad thing to say. Drawing conclusions quickly from one part of a statement, taking it out of context and saying "i won" is a mistake i've seen quite a few people make. I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case. I remember going to Alabama in December for one night and other than making a few jokes at their expense, I was pretty uncomfortable about being in a place that legalized families getting married and wanted out of there asap. I was with my step father and trans brother during this trip, so even though we make those jokes and had some fun doing so, the very idea of us being like them in any way was pretty unsettling to say the least. Luckily, non of us were born there and we didn’t plan on staying there for long since we were just trying to get through there to reach our actual destination to spend Christmas with our uncle and cousins, but I can’t imagine what life would be like if I or my family were born in Alabama. I’m just glad that I don’t have to actually be around there and live through that experience.
