Hello
In this video our scottish tour takes us to Aberdeenshire and we show you how NOT to arrive at Ballater Caravan Park in a motorhome, after taking the wrong turning. We also go for a walk around Ballater and show you some of the sights. We really enjoyed our stay there, the village is beautiful and has so many connections to our late queen and the royal family. We can highly recommend a visit there!

Yes, we like Ballater. We stayed on the site in August one year to climb summer mountains. It was busy but it kept the lovely open feel.

Hi Mark & Coral, no it was our mistake, the access isn’t tight, we took the wrong turning, which meant we ended up going up the wrong road 😚 The “correct” access road is a huge wide road and no issues at all 😅😂 Thanks for watching & commenting. Em 💜

We parked in Church Square car park for a couple of hours when we visited last May. Thankfully we managed to keep out of the side streets! 😮 The campsite looks great so will keep in mind when we next visit the area, thanks! 👍 😀

😂 How not to Arrive 😂😂😂 Should try that route into the site with an 8.5m wobble box on the back..... 😁wont be doing that again..... slow and delicate manoeuvres 🤔 Next time I'll follow the signs and site instructions and go in the proper way.... 🤗.... dont think we were the first by the looks we got, nor will we be the last....

Ballater is only an hours drive for us. We love it there but still prefer Braemar

@@vansforthememories We are based in Aberdeen. Being a keen landscape and wildlife photographer, the whole area is littered with hidden gems from waterfalls, mountains etc. Its such a shame that people that travel up to Scotland nearly always head for the West Coast, and rightly so - its stunning over there but the East Coast and the Cairngorms National Park has so much to offer. Glad you enjoyed your trip and hope you head back sometime. Oh, and our Malt Whiskies aren't too bad either ;)

@@mstphoto99 haha yes I agree, we do love the west coast too, we used to live on Skye, but the east coast is beautiful too & is a saving grace on a long tour when the midgies & the rain of the west gets too much 🤭 We love finding the hidden gems 💎 there’s so many in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 love it 😍 I think it’s nice in some ways that the east is quieter the west coast & the islands get so busy now in summer it’s hard to find a quiet place 🙃 Not that I’m being selfish or anything 🤣 I hope you’ll follow our travels, lots of east coast content sitting in my “ to edit” files from our trip a couple of months ago ☺️ Take care, Em 💜
