Why not, did it work? I'm about to fix mine like that right now. What's the alternative?

Replacement so you’re not stuck on the side of the road needing a new engine because it ran hot due to a faulty patch repair

This type of shit is a quick bandaid it will get u by for a day, week maybe even months depending on the hole size and application strength. Don’t count on it being a permanent fix. I might not work in a shop but I’ve been wrenching on shit for twenty years now and ghetto rigging tf out of shit just to get by with it. A shop mechanic will say no and laugh at the temp fix and try milking you

Just get the new radiator dude. They really are not that hard to install just take your time remove the retainer brackets on the top corners, dump the coolant out of the valve on the bottom and use pliers to slip the spring clips off the hoses. CLEAN THE ENDS OF THE INSIDE OF THE HOSES before you put in the new one. Just DONT force it in. Lastly pay up and but the OEM coolant for your car from the dealer or offline, DO NOT USE AFTERMARKET!!! Some cars have composit blocks and the wrong coolant can eat away at it and make it leak like crazy. 2 of my cars have special blocks and without oem fluids it will 100% damage them. Car manufacturers spend millions on research to make sure their stuff all works together. Don't skimp you will pay for it long term..

@@oladeebiazazi4538 fluid is around 40 to 60 per gallon for the fluid and a radiator will be around $120 to $250 depending on the vehicle. 120 was for a early 2000s civic

Is it best to replace a leaky radiator caused by using tap water because it was running hot and should you replace the water pump also?
@crutchfieldautomotive79366 ай бұрын
Any leak in a cooling system should be repaired/replaced If the water pump isn’t leaking or otherwise weak I wouldn’t see a reason to change it

My exact question and answered. It's kinda funny I had used a jb water weld on my radiator and held with no leak for 6months. Probably wouldn't if it wasn't just a crack. I replaced it just recently and yes it still didn't leak I just got a good deal on one and said why not.
