I've been listening to Sabrina's music since I was 12 and she was 15, which is around the time this song came out. It's easy to dismiss the messages in her older music as "basic" or "nonsensical" and compare them to musicians who are her age now (so in their 20s), but when I was a kid, this was GROUNDBREAKING to me. It's kinda the same issue with the Barbie movie speech and message. FOR YOU, who are in your 20s or 30s, it's not new information, but the 12 year olds who never questioned anything and their moms who are not on the internet 24/7 participating in sociopolitical discourse are starting to question things because of it. This song, along with all of her Eyes Wide Open (her first album) songs were the philosophy I lived by, back then. So of course, now that I'm 20 it's just a fun little song, but it's not bad or stupid and I'm glad you recognized that ❤

If you want to hear more of her old stuff I am going to suggest Smoke and Fire and Too Young. I loved her in Girl Meets World and I'm so happy she has become more of a star in the last year or so. Girl is so talented.

Thumbs is a party anthem in my opinion. You can sing along without knowing the lyrics. I personally think the lyrics are accurate, some people (not all) do live like that. Big corporations, working 9 to 5

So for Sabrina she was really young and it was kind of her departure from the girl meets world persona and all as I’m pretty sure the subway is the same as the one in the show Ppl find the lyrics stupid because of the family tree moment but yak it is what it is Also just wanted to point out at the end of the song when she’s sitting down and not singing you can see her twiddling her thumbs which is amazing in my opinion (I saw a comment say the eye symbol is probably for ‘eyes wide open’ which was her previous album to this)

Yes, please react to more of her old songs she had some amazing ones in her Evolution album, I would personally recommend Run and Hide, On Purpose, Shadows and Smoke and Fire (and of course so many more) I would also recommend to watch her live performance of these songs at Honda Stage in 2016, her vocals were just out of this world:)

I personally love this song! It's one of my favorites! So musically interesting, and the lyrics are awesome too! I'm 32, so with that being said I grew up in more of the Hilary Duff era of Disney, but I have a Zoomer niece who loved and still loves Sabrina and watched her on Girl Meets World, and what not. She liked to play Sabrina's music when she started putting out her music. I loved it! Even at the time I was in my 20s I still like her music now It's amazing.

Thumbs is old but one of my Favourite Songs of her. Very nice old Songs from her which you must hear and react are - Almost Love - Paris - Smoke and Fire - Wildside (With Sofia Carson for the Babysitter Movie) - Sue Me - On my Way Sabrina is so underrated. I was last year at her concert in cologne for just 40€ . She was absolutely stunning.

I was at her opening concert on her second tour, The De-Tour, in Vancouver, and got to meet her, talk to her for a few minutes, take a picture and get a little video with the two of us. It was amazing and she was super sweet. Right away I could tell that she wasn't only talented, but that she deserved to be a big star. She is quite short, but her personality and kindness were humongous. I actually took some extremely amazing videos of nearly the entire concert, as I was right at the foot of center stage, (and it was a much smaller, more intimate theater, so I was able to capture her amazingly.) If you ever want to check her out live, (outside of an awards performance or TV taping,) I have all those videos uploaded on my channel. If you want to do a reaction to any of them, just let me know. (I don't get paid for anything on my channel, I just put the videos I've recorded and KZfaq allows me to put up, for fans to enjoy.)
