He's referring to people getting rewarded for sitting on their pockets all day while others are out grinding, making things happen. Welfare became a reward system for those that are flat out lazy and funded by those that live paycheck to paycheck working jobs that alot of welfare recipients consider below them. Welfare is supposed to be for a hand up, not a hand out. Most Americans realize the importance of welfare, but know how abused its become.

@@barneyboyle6933it’s not acceptance it’s the harsh reality and his tone of voice reflects that it’s a reality. Yes the fight isn’t over and he never said definitively this is how things will stay just you know. Recognizing there is a problem and giving it a platform for others to see it as well. Once you recognize there is a problem and you can get others to admit there is a problem, you can go about fixing it. You can’t fix a problem if you aren’t able to recognize it as one. That’s all this song did was put it in a format to where many people can see that there’s a problem here and it can be a “it is what it is” situation or you can have a backbone and start the slow journey to fixing it. That is all or at-least how I interpreted it. Life’s all about perspective my friend

This is one of the most profound happenings in music, not to mention in popular culture. This is someone being embraced by the masses for all of the right reasons. He’s touched people’s souls with a song he wrote about his experience making his way in a dark and unfair world. He doesn’t need a nice ass, or a sculpted physique, or money, or a bunch of material fanfare. He wrote an honest song about an honest man living an honest life, and that’s it. This is why I love music, and this is among the best uses I’ve ever seen for the internet and streaming video platforms. I hope this guy enjoys his newfound fame and that his audience allows him to make a living singing his songs, if that’s what he wants. Joe Rogan’s guest really hit it home when he said, “Now that’s soul. You know he sounds just like that in person.” Yep. 👍

I think the boys confused. Seems like he points the finger equally at politicians and poor people for his problems, and those things are not in the same world of problems. Does some of your tax dollars go to poor people? Sure. But the majority of it goes to rich people as decided by our politicians. I wish it was reversed. I wished the poor got 90% of our taxes and the defense contractors and all the other ghouls who are raking in our money got the 10% but that’s not how the politicians set this all up. This kid is mad and rightfully so, but he’s lost about who to blame.

@@peskypenguinz I think you misunderstood me. I will try and explain better. It's unrealistic for a person to take responsibility for things outside their control such as how each tax dollar is spent or decisions made by military commanders during war. I was referring to responsibilities related to our own life. For example, my financial condition....it is I who chooses how and when to spend money so if I don't have a good savings account, it's my fault. Also in terms of personal health...It is I who chooses what to eat, and whether or not to exercise regularly. If I am obese, I take responsibility for that. You can’t sell drugs in certain areas either cause not all places have a market for it and police are heavy and theirs more ppl that will tell than stay solid so that might not be an option there either. If they stopped to look at the voting record of those they support they would see those representatives are not at all representing their best interest, especially in labor/wages/worker rights. Worse if you bring up that the federal minimum wage hasn't been charged in almost 15 freaking years, while Congress immediately votes for their own raises every year, you get the insane experience of seeing corporate bootlickers defending the wage scam. They parrot they same dumb right wing narrative about "starter jobs for highschool kids" rather than realize that yes, everyone has been getting screwed on wages.
