Last year, CS:GO saw the biggest cheating scandal it had ever seen.
Dozens of coaches were found to have used an exploit that broke the game, unbalanced competitive play, and led to them getting banned.
And one man uncovered it all.

I'm not a CS:GO player so I'm a little bit confused as to how this can be used. So the coaches can gain a view of the enemy team, but are the coaches allowed to talk to ingame to the rest of the team members and give them information of where the other team is? If not then how can they use this bug to their teams advantage? I'm sorry for my ignorance but I mostly watch only competitive league where the coaches are only present during the pick/ban phase so this is very confusing to me, if anyone could enlighten me I would highly appreciate it! :)
@lunaticgmd6427
@lunaticgmd6427 3 жыл бұрын
the coaches are usually only meant to spectate from the view of the players i think. also the coaches are in voice chat with the team members so having information from the sky during a match like that is game breakingly powerful.
@Dontatmebr0
@Dontatmebr0 3 жыл бұрын
The coaches use the bug to see only one part of the map. The coach can then relay to their team during the game whether or not the enemy team is there. It basically narrows it down to either the opponents are at that location or they are not. If they are not at that location then the other team would know to not watch that area of the map and concentrate on areas where the opponents would be. Hope this helps.

I've been playing/watching cs for almost 20 years. Cheating ruins the game every time, no matter what it is. Its also always obvious, might work for a while but eventually it will bleed through as players become dependent on the cheat/exploit/glitch. If you struggle to compete, study your opponents, work on your technique, then get back at it. Thank you for finding this and doing what was necessary to uphold the integrity of the game at the competitive level.

The main issue I have with this whole coaching bug scenario is that I still don't understand how the more edge cases were decided on, as it's been getting no coverage. Sure, everyone has talked about Hunden who admitted to exploiting the issue and got banned, but what about a case like Dead's (as far as I remember), where he was found to move his camera on a single round in a single game? Was it intentional, and did he give away information to the team that they shouldn't have, or did he get there by accident, amd kept quiet? Is it even possible to access this bug by accident anyways? I've seen many, many videos on this subject and I still haven't gotten a clear answer.

First of all this "cheats " has been going for years, second is up to Valve to fiz, and not ban coaches from coaching just because the bug. OFC the coaches who cheated must be punished.

The CS:GO esports scene is rotten to the core. From matchfixing to cheating, the ones that are caught are a tiny minority compared to the hundreds of players that go unnoticed. The fact that coaches at the top are willing to cheat means they feared no repercussion at the time. The most some of them got is 6 months, when matchfixing one single match has gotten the players permanent bans. We now get investigations that are discontinued over "integrity" of the game with the streamsniping scandal (another scandal that affected top teams), citing supposed under-funding as the reason. I really don't get how people enjoy watching CS when there's a likely chance that at least one of those T1 teams you're watching are currently cheating with a as of yet undisclosed new exploit.
