I’ve only been producing for less than a year so this might sound like a stupid question. But instead of taking harsher sounds with a fast attack, couldn’t you just use sounds with a slower attack that are less harsh like pads?

This is great stuff. However, you mentioned something and said it was not a thing. Maybe i misunderstood what you were saying, however, 1-3-5-7 is a thing. If you know anything about theory, you would know what I mean.. It is a thing. Now it is NOT something you HAVE to do, but it is how chords are built and it helps with making melodies and progressions.. Either way, this video has some good info. That one part stood out to me. Other than that, good gems.
