I think when you mentioned Asians, it referred to the ones who eat anything with chopsticks, like Japanese or Chinese, cause in mainly South East Asia, we use our hands to eat anything sometimes even noodles 😅😄

Japanese and Chinese also use hands and not just chopsticks. Even Sushi is traditionally eaten with hands, so that is a misconception. Koreans also use hands for dishes like ssam. We use hands to prepare kimchi, digging elbow deep sometimes in huge buckets and eat straight from the container too. Point is, no Asian would just sit before a dish like fufu or butter chicken, clueless as demonstrated

When I was thinking of moving to Japan, I had to make sure that there was at least ONE Nigerian restaurant, so I van have a taste of home. You can always look it up on Google. There are a lot of Nigerians that actually live and work in Asia, so, you can always find at least one. Might have to take a long train ride, but they're there

As a Filipina (Asian) I grew up using my hand to eat. Well when we are outside or with other people we are also taught to use spoon & fork but it's tastier by using hand 😬 Especially during outings and boodle fight 🥰 Steamed & Grilled fishes with stuffings dipped soy sauce with calamansi and served with hot steaming rice or even left over rice vetter with fried rice. Don't forget the mixed salted egg and tomato on the side🤤 But haven't tried fufu maybe soon and this vid is a good head's up ♥️

I’m from South Asia (Nepal), we do have similar recipe as fufu called dhedo. Instead of Yams, we make it with flour, basically, millet , wheat or buckwheat flour and eat it with buttermilk soup, green-leafy vegetables or meat curries. One of my favourite dish to eat. Also, we eat everything with hands except the noodles. Cheers! Edit: Thanks for all those people who’ve corrected me on the location of Nepal. I didn’t realise I had written SEA instead of SA. Will keep in mind for next time.

As an Asian person, this fufu is very much similar to my traditional food called “dhero.” I don’t know what fufu is made out of but I know Dhero is made out of flour and water, and we eat it just like how you eat fufu. And I love eating Dhero dipped in goat soup and we also eat it with our hands just like how we eat other foods with our hands as well such as rice and meat
