How Peter Davison Became Doctor Who (Days of Wrath: The Making of Four to Doomsday)

Stepping into the considerable shoes of Tom Baker, Peter Davison faced quite the challenge when taking on the lead role in Doctor Who. His job wasn't made any easier by the fact that his first story to be broadcast would not be his first story to be recorded. "Four To Doomsday" represented his first chance to get to grips with the being the 5th Doctor.
For this behind the scenes look at Peter Davison's first recorded outing as the Doctor, Century 21 Films brought together cast and crew, recreated sections of the original sets, and scoured the archives for rare and unseen photos and unedided studio tape material. Featuring Peter Davison (The Doctor), John Black (Director), Christopher H. Bidmead (Script Editor), and Kevin Davies (Filmmaker, Fan, and Studio Guest).
“Days of Wrath” is available in full on the Doctor Who Season 19 Blu-Ray set.

Peter looks quite good today, and would look great on the screen. Put him in a more sophisticated outfit than what he had to wear when he was the Doctor, though. :D Thanks for the video!

I love my Dr. Who Tardis Coffee mugs, that change when Tea or Coffee are poured in. The Original, and Reboot series were pretty exciting to kids of my era too. 👍👍 10🌟

Back in the '80s I used to record all the episodes of Doctor Who onto videotape. I thought Four to Doomsday was so terrible, it was one of the few stories I didn't bother to keep.

Confession: I used to watch this Dr JUST for Tegan. It was only recently that my sister pointed out that every subsequent girlfriend has been a Tegan clone! I even followed one to Paris where I have been for the last 15 years... That is me quite literally travelling through dimensions to another world where the food is awful, the language is alien though oddly rhythmic, but... Good taste prevents me from typing the rest! 😉👍🐌 👽
