Are you taking the 'Plastic Free July' challenge? This is a global movement, with the goal being to help millions of people learn how to keep trash out of our oceans, lakes, streams, and off our streets and out of our landfills. We stopped by a local coffee shop - Dessert Oasis Coffee Roasters in Ferndale - to talk about the 'Plastic Free July' challenge.

Massive, unnecessary resource usage (including plastics) for women to wear make-up and use unnecessary hair, skin and nail beauty products and cosmetics. No one ever mentions this.

What a joke. All these rich folks’ carbon footprint is massive. Huge houses, big SUV’s, frequent air travel. If you can afford a hand soap station, your plastic use is the least of your concerns. Using 5% less plastic for a month isn’t helping anything but your ego. This is offensive.

Oh this is offensive? Do rich not take part in a plastic free July too? You understand the idea behind the assignment? It’s to get people to realize we don’t need single use plastics in the USA. You’re offended by people trying to change the bad habits of Americans, because rich people exist. Sounds like you need some therapy for other issues.
