@@johnsjohnson yes it is long time captain marvel was created by Fawcett published in 1939, it was like most popular comics book series of the 1940's, dc comics didn't like that and sued them for copying superman the man of steel. After 12 years legal battle, Fawcett was shut down by dc who decided to "reintroduce" captain marvel in 1972 after buying the right to the character from the shambles of the Fawcett company, by then, marvel comics and gained the copyright name. So dc had to change their captain marvel to shazam to shazam in order to avoid another legal battle. To retain their trademark, though, marvel has had to publish captain marvel title a least once every two years since, leading to number of ongoing series, limited series, and one-shots featuring a range of characters using the captain marvel "alias" end of the the story. So it shazam not captain marvel. 😡

I thought the KSD run was pretty bad and I feel like they shoe horn her into all of these positions even though they concern very little with her character. Like Civil War 2 was just a mess. The characters don't suck it's the writing you can take any established character and write terrible stories with them which is why the first Civil War and Ultimatum are trash because the characters are there but the writing is trash.

Yes, this video is true. You are right. Agree. I subscribe to your channel directly. Captain marvel although she is beyond op, she still experiences ordeal such as rogue absorps her power and puts her in vegetative state, but after that she just becomes stronger, so that is what I really like about her, how she overcomes the odds, and stands up again to become stronger.

I don't know if anyone noticed this but at the core, Captain Marvel's powers come from being a human energy battery. You can trace every last one of her powers to that central conceit. I also expect that said powers will be nerfed somewhat to fit the MCU.

Wow, I never really sat down and thought about how powerful Captain Marvel truly is. And now that I have, idk if I’m looking forward to this movie. And I’m going to say this now, gender has nothing to do with it. Iron Man (once his suit fails, he is just a man), Thor (if he is unworthy, he isn’t nearly as powerful), Captain America (damn strong but not a god and can be killed), all the main pillars of the MCU are characters whom can be beaten or have some form of a flaw. Captain Marvel has none. I think the movie will be fine, no question. Marvel is putting all their eggs in the Carol Danvers’s basket but I’m worried now. Ok she bet Thanos in the comics. But Marvel, I am begging you, don’t have her run up in Endgame and just body the Mad Titan. It undercuts Thanos and all of the pre-establishes characters we all grew to love. This in my mind is equivalent to being Sentry into the MCU. According to Canon, his powerful enough to beat anyone, can manipulate molecules better than the damn. Molecule Man. His name is Molecule Man! What the hell, Marvel!?!? Captain Marvel is going to be that. And now, they have to use the Civil War 2 story line in order to weaken her. I feel like she is too OP to lose a physical battle, so now you have to beat her morally. But since Kevin Fiege stated that she will be the foundation for the MCU from now on, I don’t see that happening either. Don’t want to portray your next cash cow as the manifestation of the Patriot Act so, yeah. I’m done now. Hope Marvel builds something in her character, so type of flaw or something, otherwise the MCU moving forward will be something like “Problem+Protagonist failure+call for help+Problem resurfaces+Captain Marvel= Movie and credits

Matty V that’s a good point and I think you’re totally right, but the fear I guess is what if, due to Marvel wanting her to be the future for the MCU, they don’t stray too much from the comics. Then in my opinion, she’ll be too much for any potential villain. That’s just my thought. Maybe they keep Rhodes Alice, build on their romance, kill him off and have her go down a similar path that Scarlet Witch is going. Or maybe even, after the death of Warmachine, she loses a little bit of the fight that is in her.

seyi adelusi Strength? He probably is physically more stronger. But that still doesn't mean He's more powerful. The Avengers have been lacking a female powerhouse for sometime. Scarlet Witch has been a excellent addition as a powerful character, but the focus needed to be on a character that was powerful, stong & has leadership abilities.

SHE gets her powers from a dwarf star which is different from a regular star but whatevers and supes gets his powers from the sun, so going by your logic they would just be empowering each other. we all know superman would win, he's waaay stronger and invulnearable. its all a moot point since they arent even in the same universe

I expected more actual knowledge of her powers and how they have changed over time, but I think I was asking too much of this video. If there is no distinction made between her original powers stolen by Rogue and her later powers, all based on her Brood-given Binary powers (much less of later exposures to the Psyche Magnitron, the changes made by Cru or the gifts of the Storyteller), I would have settled for images that actually matched what you were saying on the video.

This is the entire problem with her, she's what I call a overcompensation-character created by Marvel for the lack of a Superman in their lineup... I prefer the Sups anytime, his origin story, what he represents, what he stands for and his inner conflicts... not no mention that he's the original high profile standard from which everyone in the Comics industry has and still draws inspiration from when creating a new Superhero.
