The concept of "it takes a village" has/is fading away in the black community and I believe that's one of the factors women suffer from postpartum depression. But the truth is we need the support. Parenting is hard.

It’s definitely not the same village our parents had back in the day. We need to do better because parenting really is hard and requires community 🙏🏾

Thank you for being so real, raw and vulnerable. You guys definitely walked so we could run. This was triggering for me and it’s sad how most women can resonate with trauma. I however am grateful that, it highlights what I still need to work through before pregnancy. I watched in parts because yah it was a lot to digest. God bless you guys❤

Pregnancy is such a delicate time…as you’re talking about past traumas coming up, the one thing that nagged at my soul during my pregnancy was having a child out of wedlock. It used to haunt me. My boyfriend is a beautiful man and he did his best to be supportive but personally it felt like he was letting me down, I was so hurt and upset by the whole thing. I would find myself crying or even wanted to “run away” … it was awful😞 But… we got through it. Still not married though 👀👀 😂

I can’t imagine. So much can pop up during pregnancy to be honest. It really is such a delicate time. I’m glad your boyfriend did his best regardless and you guys got through it in the end🥰♥️ Thank you for sharing Nolo♥️♥️

Funny story, I actually got a renewed understanding why my mom told me she didn’t want a daughter, cz she said the same thing he said. Me and mom are besties, my siblings, my brothers are very jealous 😂 It didn’t offend me though, it just made me more careful growing up

Guys this gender disappointment issue is affecting me bad I'm a lady I wanted a girl I'm still in denial the doc says I'm having a girl. Nam I have fear of having a girl knowing how it is being a girl in SA

It’s good that you’re acknowledging your fears and your current disappointment because now it’s a gateway for you to work through it and be okay. Trust me, God knows what’s best and you will love that child with all your heart regardless of the gender. It will be okay♥️
