The first time I heard him sing Hurt I was driving on a deserted back road to work. It was before dawn, and in that dark solitude the song just blew me away!

Very clever for the price of a dinner & a few or many drinks - get an intimate Johnny Cash Concert. I now realise Rick Rubin was the genius who was responsible for Johnny Cash turning Hurt into his own song.

He published a book. But he's also been interviewed many times over the years. He may have also produced a lot of music you're familiar with.

He was already super famous and was in the Highwaymen. I don't think his later songs were as good as his old songs. He was far from overlooked 😅

The most talented artists in the world seek him out to help produce their work. He sees in them what most music producers do not and he helps them to tell their story through their music. I don’t need to know exactly what he does or gives them I’m just going to sit back and enjoy his and the artists efforts

@@800oceandrive5 the artists are to be celebrated. Rubin didn’t do anything to make their music great. The man doesn’t know how to play an instrument or even record.
