She was an impressive and formidable fighter. I hate the fact the she did not have a better boxing coach. She was great when It came to grappling and judo, but you have to have hands as well. Granted if it wasn’t for her, the UFC would not have women in their ranks. She’s a pioneer. And will always be remembered as that.

Never been a fan of hers, but the respect is earned. She needed a BOXING coach though. Literally every single one of her points were put towards grappling 😂 gotta have hands and ground game both

It wasn’t that Ronda didn’t have an answer to Holmes striking, it’s because she listened to her terrible coach. And her coach gave really bad advice. Ronda was hot-headed at the time. She literally thought she could out strike Holmes who is an elite striker. If Ronda stuck to using her Judo and grappled her, the outcome would’ve been much different. Holmes didn’t have enough grappling training before she fought Ronda, so she was at a severe disadvantage. If Ronda shot a takedown and started using her ne-waza (Judo term for ground fighting), she would have won via arm bar like she normally does. But Ronda was letting her ego get the best of her and listened to her dumb ass coach. And after that loss, she lost all confidence which is why she lost to Amanda. She should have stuck to her OG game. Nobody was trying so hard to counter it. Ronda needs to accept the fact she is a grappler, not a striker. i’m not saying that learning striking was a bad idea, you need to have striking. But she should’ve stuck to her grappling first.

Rhonda became a U.F.C legend by being one of the first women to fight in the U.F.C This was before there were any real fighters with any real experience. So she became a legend by being there just at the right time. Very lucky. Rhonda had good Judo skills where the other girls she fought really didn't have any real professional skills worth noting. She was very good under those circumstances. Let's face it , there isn't many if any fighters of today that Rhonda would be able to beat. Seriously

1 It's spelled Ronda. 2 The rest of your post is BS. You are talking about Ronda who is now in her mid 30's going up against ladies in tehir mid 20's. Ronda in her prime absolutely would beat many of those in UFC today.

Ronda made all the classic mistakes of a champion, but more than that, she was a poor sport. Her disdain for her opponents, especially Miesha Tate, and without justification, would so inflate her ego, which would suffer a humiliating blow because of Holly Holm. Rousey's prediction of leaving the sport undefeated, was foolhardy and presumptuous. She was a one-note Johnny with that arm-bar, and it was only a matter of time before she was exposed for having huge holes in her game. Too often her opponents trained against the take-down and arm-bar, until fittingly, "The Preacher's Daughter" used her boxing pedigree to neutralize Ronda's only weapon. She compounded her mistake by not humbling herself and learning from her loss. She continued to scowl and be ultra-serious, refused to speak to the media, continued taking bad advice from her coach, and thought she could fake her way to make it.

She got soft. Too many night show interviews. She should have been training. How I feel? I love her with all my heart. No one truly beat her but herself. First loss was due to the lack of training, shit talking and over confidence. Second loss was nothing other than being gun shy. She lost both times to herself.

Lmaoo keep telling yourself that she got her ass beat both times cuz all she had was her judo hiptoss and armbar but couldn't punch herself out of a wet paper bag lol Holly and Amanda exposed the shit out of her
@niteowl9733
@niteowl9733 2 жыл бұрын
@@bubsterjohnson7438 you clearly don't have a clue. She defended her title multiple times with out the armbar and or hip toss. If she would have prepared for a boxer like Holy instead of doing interviews and talking trash she could have beaten her. Her entire disposition towards the match says karma is coming for her. No one's fault but her own. The match against Amanda was over before it started due to her lack of confidence. She let her defeat against Holy end her career. You clearly know nothing about competitive fighting. Have you ever been in a spotlight on a wrestling team? Have you ever been on a team at all? Have you ever taken anything serious in your life? Have you ever trained and worked your ass off for something bigger than yourself? Judging by your comment I would say no. You have zero respect and can't even recognize the fact that Rhonda was the pioneer of women's MMA. Even if you come back and say yes it's an obvious lie. Anyone that has would have never been as remedial as you. Go back to your video games, social media and your bong, dude. Do the world a favor and keep your mouth shut. There are plenty of idiots out there that might actually hear you and nothing good comes from the blind leading the blind.
