For me this is a brilliant signing he will do the Luiz role no problem and he is taller and stronger so will add an ariel presence in both boxes too. Tielemens will also do that Luiz role too if needed so I think we are in great shape Barkley, Illing Junior and Barrenechea and about 20 million to replace him I think the Luiz transfer has been handled brilliant and we are definitely the winners here. I expect Villa to keep bringing in players and early in the window so Emery has his squad ready for preseason. I just love the way Villa operate its Elite it really is 💜💙

For whatever reason I probably watched about half of Luton’s games last season. Barkley was incredible in a relegation team against top opposition. I think he’s a top player and my firm prediction is he will be the bargain of this transfer window, for any club. I think he will be a first 11 player for us this year and couldn’t be more chuffed for his (re)arrival!

I think we are going to see a different Barkley to the last time we had him at Villa thanks to Luton. He’s homegrown too in terms of the squad . Smart signing.

I think unai is going to give opposition managers a real headache this season. The players brought in can all adapt and play in numerous positions and in different formations.this team is going to evolve so much this season.maatsen already gives us a different dimension to our play. I've gone back and forth on Barkley. Now I think Ross has a chance to come in and win player of the year for Villa. Do you know of anyone else, at this point, who will have the ball at his feet more than Barkley? There is a chance he has to fight for minutes, but I see Emery using him early and often. He really has an opportunity to be the face of Villa this year.

Barkley would of been ideal in this England team along Rice IMO, shrewd bit of business from us when there’s teenagers moving for £20m plus this window already we have so much more depth

I’m sure Barkley will get used in various different ways but I can see him being the natural replacement for John McGinn if he isn’t available for any reason. He has that same ability to receive the ball under pressure in midfield, spin players and break forward. Given the season he has just had, I would be pleased with us signing him, even if he didn’t represent such good value for money.

Never really watched Luton except that game against arsenal at Kenilworth road. He did stand out. But I didn't know if it was a one game wonder performance. The majority of people seem happy with him. Would i have liked someone younger with a few years of premier league experience and value? Yes I would have, but I'll give him a second chance.
