I think my chimney is broken, I have to clean up glitter every morning. I think they switched the lactose intolerance for oxygen intolerance and the presents never spawn. They probably keep spawning due to a faulty matter reconfigurator trying and failing to deliver the presents at midnight, but there is nowhere near enough mass to form the neutron star fragment I asked for.

Unironically a really good comedy sci-fi Christmas movie. One family forgets to leave out milk and cookies and a Santa survives that’s not supposed to. Boom whole film series right there.

@@galacticlava1475 Originally a book where there are two magicians that keep trying to up one each other. One "teleports" himself and the other can't figure it out. It ends up being a bit of a faulty clone machine(I think? There was something about a ghost somewhere) in addition to a teleportation device...there is more but thats the famous bit of the book in question, which was made into a movie. There is more to the book, but, I haven't read it nor seen the movie, so I dont know jack lol, I just remember that things got NASTY between the two magicians and the teleporting thing(I saw a review of it from the dominic noble youtube channel)

Just a reminder that nobody with a milk allergy is allergic to lactose. You’re thinking of lactose intolerance, which makes somebody’s bowels very gassy. I’d imagine the Santa popping like a ballon rather than turning red and falling over.

Then why didn’t you point out the flaw, that in the prestige the original is killed by drowning, not by the cloning, so technically ALL the clones could die if the original wasn’t killed by drowning and would just stay at the North Pole. Moon would have been a better reference.

That fear of not knowing if he'll be the santa that goes home reminds me of a thought expirement I had. If you had a machine that could create an exact copy of you with the memories that you saved, exept for a tattoo that marks the number of times you've died. We'll call it a respawn. If you walk into the respawn machine to go get your memories stored, what are the odds that the number will be higher than when you went in?

I like the idea that Santa DOES clone himself, but the clones fight all year until only 1 is alive. He then gets to be Santa Claus, and clones himself next year to create the ultimate hunter-killer Santa. Comes in handy when the aliens attack in the 4th movie

This is a great premise for a "6th day" style story where some Santas did not go to house that put out milk. Some could not afford it, or someone drank it before Santa came, or fake milk like soy or whatever, or a difference in tradition.

Clone or not, he's still him. As long as at least one child believes in the spirit of Christmas, Santa lives on. It is a beautiful mercy to spare your clones from existential dysmorphism. Especially if they feel no pain.

Not everyone puts out the offering of milk and cookies but I love the wormhole cloning idea that makes the most sense as an explanation I've ever heard for Santa. I'll just imagine the clones merge back into the real Santa after exiting the house
