Nodding is popular among most animals. It’s like a sign that they understand your language regardless what they sounded like. I tried it with a zebra and I’m Arabian. I asked him/her if they wanted peanuts and they nodded twice coming real close that I could touch them. Watching an animal react in such a manner forces you to expose or clean whatever you’re offering like peel a banana to a monkey or shell the peanuts then present it like I did. Animals don’t speak because it would’ve been awkward hearing all what they have to say and only Lord’s prophet Sulaiman (Solomon) was gifted the ability to understand their various languages and heard them no matter how small they were. It is mentioned in the Holy Quran that he heard an Ant saying to its group to hurry clear the way for Soloman and his servants were coming through and he responded to that with a smile. 🙂 Praise the Lord.
