You had my full attention for 16 minutes. I came in knowing very little to having both a better understanding of the topic & an appreciation of your fantastic teaching style. Each part you explained provided a depth of information I had hoped for & you delivered. I’m anticipating & intrigued to listen to not only part two, but also any other instructional videos you have available.

Near perfect pace, which I find almost impossible to find in a documentary. Graphics and visuals are both intuitive and easy to understand logically. I got a cliffhanger feeling in my gut a few times, which is also rare for me while watching a documentary. Really nice work.

Excellent video tutorial! You simplified a rather complex subject using real/actual examples to illustrate and “amplify” your concepts. You’re a gifted teacher! Like they say - you brought the cookie jar from the top shelf to the floor so everyone can partake. Thanks Adam! I appreciate your gift to us. Btw, if you can simplify how a compressor, gate and reverb works and how to use them effectively, I’d (& our Sunday school music and sound team) be forever grateful to you!
@MrMcMath Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! I have a video about how compressors work here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ibV1ZbuEs5_LoX0.html A noise gate is pretty much the opposite of a compressor. A compressor will attenuate signal ABOVE the threshold while a gate will attenuate signal BELOW the threshold. Reverb is its own can of worms. How it works depends on the type: spring, plate, room reflections, etc. As far as using each of them effectively, it's really about understanding how they work and then TONS of practice and experimentation. Hope that helps, lmk if you have any questions.

Very interesting/intriguing to me how the lower frequencies are a "feeling" or some kind of deep, unconscious sensation that we get. You're totally right about that. As soon as I heard that and what the human ear can detect, I went and downloaded a frequency generator app to my intense delight. Going through each level of Hz was a unique experience in and of its own. It actually gives a LOT of credence to what people say about numerology and the effect numbers can have on your mind and perception. I think that ties in to what frequency it corresponds with, because a lot of the concepts that are assigned, or perhaps better stated, 'discovered', regarding each number was something that registered with me while staring at the sine wave and putting my speaker up to my ears. 23, for instance, is correlated strongly with personal creativity, and for some reason, I always connected it to the Grateful Dead, especially the birth of their prolific generation of art, as well as all of the artwork which that, in turn, inspired. 8 was a frequency I felt I could rely on. Dependable. Solid. 2 made it easier to breathe and 1 made me meditative. I've never experienced anything like that. Something that instantly forced me to go to a place of mindfulness. Extremely cool and bizarre at the same time. By the way, the lowest frequency I can detect with my eardrums as a distinct sound is 30 Hz. For some reason I can't hear 31 but 32 I hear even more clearly.
