I think that even the Diamonds were unaware of how powerful Lapis Lazualy would be on Earth. Remember the reaction that Peridot had when it rained. This indicates that liquid water is not a common thing on Homeworld. It might never have occurred to anyone what Lapis would be able to do with access to a liquid ocean! Maybe the Homeworld gems have never seen a Lapis use its power with access to anything more than a small lake. Possibly Lapis's power is amplified based on the amount of water available?

We don’t know if Lapis Lazuli punched Jasper to the Great North. As far as we know, Jasper probably landed in the ocean and swam to shore. The Great North has a Warp Pad, she could have just warped there. And if Jasper did poof after being punched, we’ve seen Gems reform with the same outfit via Amethyst in “Reformed”.

I know this video was made years ago and Steven Universe is over, but our Lapis is extremely powerful. It was even shown in 'Why So Blue?' That it's not even just her gem species is what makes her so strong since the mean and freckled Lapis weren't even near her level. Honestly I think out of all the gems, fusion excluded that Lapis is the most powerful gem in the show besides a Diamond. I know some people think that Lapis is stronger than a Diamond, but you have to also remember that Lapis isn't very durable so she's easier to poof compared to a Diamond.

Lapis technically has even more power than this due to the fact many different materials have a shit ton of H2O in it, including organic life, and most importantly of all... _*the crust of Earth*_. Considering the galaxy that we can see from Earth to the naked eye is the Andromeda galaxy, which is 2.537 MILLION light years away. When Lapis left Earth the first time to go home to when she sent the message, she must’ve been moving WAYYYY faster than light to reach there in what? A MONTH?

Maybe earth is the only planet that has so much water (or any other Liquid Materials) than any other planets in Steven Universe. Sure, she can control it but maybe it’s limited uses on homeworld because they don’t need liquid materials on their planets. And that’s why lapis is not really powerful on the planets that doesn’t Liquid Materials, and that’s how she’s powerful only on earth because she has enough Liquid Materials to make something that is much better than the gems weapons. Such as: 1. water hand (lapis uses it most of the time and it’s very powerful and even though, jasper loved to use it when she was malachite). 2. Water clones (if water hand isn’t powerful enough, then you have this thing. It’s pretty much OP and I don’t know if the diamonds could be defeated by it or not).

that’s why the ice wall could withstand a bunch of alexandrite-powered opal arrows, but as soon as she stops concentrating on squeezing the ice it’ll start bouncing back. that’s why alexandrite broke out of the ice hands prison; malachite was no longer maintaining the pressure needed to keep the ice unnaturally dense, and the tropical heat caused it to weaken even further from the thermal energy vibrating the water molecules. pretty soon it was just weak enough for alexandrite to break out, just like lapis losing concentration makes the water hand soft enough for garnet to break out

i’m pretty sure malachite’s ability to form ice is an extension of lapis’s ability to form half-solid water constructs; i assume malachite compressed the water so much it solidified into extremely dense ice above freezing temperature

I think our Lapis Lazuli is stronger than a regular Lapis Lazuli. I mean she did great feats! She firstly didn't even struggle on beating the crystal gems. A rebellion who fought many countless battles and has more battle experience than her. She also took an entire ocean with ease with her gem even cracked (which I assume this lessen her hydrokinesis power) Can stand her own ground against Jasper. A formidable soldier considered to be one of the strongest gems of all time. She also destroyed 2 Lapis Lazuli in a combat on her own. Also that time where she chained corrupted Steven and Blue Diamond. They seemed to be struggling by just how strong her water chains are. And because she is a part of the Crystal Gem now :P I'd say Lapis is on a planetary level as long as there is a water resource for her to control. But she's not very durable is one of her biggest weakness.

I think lapis can use ice but not at the same degree as malachite. She was able to make garnets gauntlets out of ice and the spikes on the end of amethysts whip out of ice and pearls spear out of ice too

I think a Lapis Lazuli is most powerful on a planet like earth. After all the planet is what 80% water? That gives Lapis tons to work with. The song "what's the use of feeling blue" states that Lapis are useful for terraforming. Which basically means to make the planet suitable for the "new residents" in gems case that's probably be getting rid of or movingly water since gemstone have no real use for it and it's probably just be an obstacle for them in colonizing. Of course that means Lapis weren't originally made for combat however as seen with pearl gems can use their natural abilities for combat quite proficiently despite their original purpose. Lapis is strong, however limited since she'd need water to do anything truly damaging, however I wouldn't doubt that Lapis is probably easy to poof if hit by a direct attack.

She's as powerful as the cluster more or less. Cluster advantage is that its body is solid while lapiz's advantage is that her water is real. If you poof her while controlling the ocean, that ocean will collapse and cause damage while the cluster simply just poof. The cluster however is hard to poof.

Pretty late to mention this but malachite was able to turn water to ice due to a combination of lapis’s water control and jaspers powerful raw strength as jaspers strength hardened the water literally and made it into ice

I would say Lapis could poof at least Yellow or blue diamond maybe even both so I would say she’s as strong as I’ll say between Garnet and Pearl but with her water ability I’ll say she’s AT LEAST as powerful as White Diamond with her water ability maybe just maybe slightly more powerful the crystal gems are most definitely they have a diamond power level gem (not counting Steven) on there side so I’d say Lapis with out the water ability she’s around the strength of Pearl but with the water she’s just as powerful as white diamond I even theorized that lapis could separate a diamond fusion (maybe only green diamond) so stay on her good side and never make her mad if she has that level of power and strength

Wait, if lapis lazulis are so strong why didn’t homeworld send 1 or 2 during the Gem War and wipe out the Earth. Lapis did get caught in the middle of the war. But when she was talking about going back to Homeworld she didn’t even mention her former diamond. And in the flashback of where we find out how Lapis got trapped in the mirror, it seemed like she was there by accident. She wasn’t clearly fighting for one side, she looked confused, like she didnt want to get involved. How did she get to Earth? The point of the Cluster was to destroy the Earth right? Why got through talk that trouble to make it instead of sending a Lapis Lazuli to crush Earth with a giant water fist? I mean maybe they are just really hard to make and Homeworld’s resources aren’t enough to make a Lapis Lazuli as powerful as the one we know. But if that’s true I’m sure the Diamonds would have multiple Lapis Lazulis and we would have seen them at least once in series. I’m sure Lapis Lazulis are quite valuable and hard to make due to there amazing abilities. Maybe because they are so valuable they have a very high position in Homeworld and would be bother to deal with Earth.
