Technically, Junpei was never meant to be a Jujutsu Sorcerer, as in his brain wasn't meant to be one. He's the equivalent of the few people in Shibuya who could see the Disaster Curses, someone on the surrounding area of high cursed energy and simultaneously on the verge of death. In the finale of the Shibuya arc, Kenjaku says. "I've activated the potential of those who I've had ingest Cursed Objects, and those who have innate Techniques, but whose brains were not meant to be sorcerers, like Junpei Yoshino." Indicating that no, Junpei could not have developed his Cursed Technique on his own. Mahito used his Idle Transfiguration to modify his brain in order to unlock his latent potential, just as Kenjaku later did on his own targets

MY HEART.... I MISS HIM!!!!! Jokes aside he would've been pretty decent in combat. I imagined he would've fought Momo with Nobara and handle the long range attacks. Few theories I also had was that his potential Domain Expansion would work like this: the opponent is in a luminescence room and a bunch of Jelly fish surround the target and grab them. After being grabbed they will decay/melt away because of the intense poison. Finally thematically I feel like he probably would be axed of during the Shibuya arc for Yuji's development.

I'd like to emphasize that Junpei summoning shikigami without an obvious medium is really quite special. Even Megumi technically has to use a medium in the form of his shadows. Even the likes of Yuta - a special grade who can replicate curse techniques and has the most curse energy of any human character in the series - had to use a medium in the form of his hair in order to summon. The fact the Junpei apparently doesn't need a medium - seeming to summon moondregs almost instinctively - is extremely unusual. Also, there's a lot that I could posit about moondregs, but I'll leave it at this: it floats through the air. We know that Junpei can enter its form to use it as a physical shield, so I don't see any reason it couldn't also be used to fly.

Junpei’s ability is actually pretty high in potential. Since his ability is the poison itself, he can mix it into a cursed tool or his own strikes to become a scary opponent

If Junpei were to go to Jujutsu Tech, I think he'd spend a lot of time with Megumi (Both emos with questionable morals who beat up bullies that also have shikigami), who might influence him into summoning multiple types of shikigami, instead of just jellyfish. For example he may end up summoning animals similar to ones Megumi has, such as a poison dart frog or black mamba, but once he gets mors confident he might summon an original shikigami like a blue ringed octopus to keep the ocean theme going on. My knowledge of shikigami is mostly limited to what little i could understand of the jjk wiki page about them, so Im probably envisioning that wrong/misinterpreting how they work Edit: FORGOT TO ADD AT FIRST GREAT VIDEO!!!!!!

I knew he wouldn’t last, there’s already someone with a black hair in the group. If he were to be part of the group, Gege would’ve given Junpei a different hair color to stand out. Edit: He also looked kinda similar to Yuta, so he’s basically designed to not last long.

This may be one of my only times to rant about Junpei, I believe he had one of the greatest potentials in this series because first off if he did join Jujutsu high he would need to do a lot of training to attain said potential but he would have the help of Yuji, Gojo and maybe even Megumi because think of it like this, a lot of people know hand to hand so of Junpei could learn this and become a master combatant would overcome that weakness but I believe his true potential comes from his Moon Dreg, if he can better at fighting and got time to understand his shikigami then he could easily develop unique ways of fighting like putting his jellyfish around his body as armour and control the tendrils within while also having a literal suit of poison as protection, also the aspect of controlling the size and strength could be helpful especially if the cloning idea was true being able to send two massive Dreg’s to fight the target while a very small but swift neo weaves behind the target and poisons them while distracted by the big ones and help being able to hop on one and move around faster, hell if he could train to develop his poison to strengthen it or better control could guarantee a sure death in seconds on lower spirits. I could imagine a domain where he could instantly hit the opponent with amped poison as the sure-hit and depending on his level could be even extremely lethal to grade 1’s and being able to control the type of poison it may be to one that kills or just subdue, maybe like Megumi’s Chimera Shadow Garden could create extremely amped and ever-growing amount of jellyfish

I like this cause I think people don’t talk enough about Junpei but there’s a few things I’d like to say. Reminder: I’m not an anime genius so this might be invalid, I’m just saying this cause it makes sense in my own mind with my knowledge of JJK. I think that Junpei could Ascend to Semi-Grade 1, maybe even Grade 1. Why? Because of two main factors, depending on what I know and an assumption I’d make. No.1: The extent of Junpei’s poison is never really explained but by the way it’s explained in the video, it seems that Junpei is the one creating the poison and then Transferring it into moon dregs. So we could assume that Junpei’s cursed energy itself is Poisonous which would make attacking him at close range very Dangerous. From what I know, I think Junpei is Fully capable of Changing The properties of his poison, so it would make sense that he trained To Advance this ability and therefore increase the potency of his poison, possibly increasing its lethality to that of the cursed wombs. No.2: The presence of megumi would probably help Junpei. From what I know, megumi is a skilled shikigami user and would most definitely be able to help Junpei with His Shikigami while Itadori could Train him in close quarters and Enveloping his attacks in cursed energy, making use of the poison cursed energy I just mentioned. It also seems that Shikigami users, prime examples being Megumi and Dagon, don’t use one Shikigami. They use a plethora of different Shikigami that Apply to their theme. Junpei’s theme seems to be Poisonous animals so it would make a lot of sense if he could make shikigamis of other poison animals such as Frogs, Snakes, or, what I think he could benefit a lot from, Lion fish. With a lion fish Shikigami, he’d Have a perfect Close Quarters Combatant that could keep his enemy still for moon dregs, keep the enemy away from Junpei so he can summon more Shikigami or give Junpei weaponry in form of its spines. Also, it would seem that the poison the Shikigamis apply is reflective of how The Animal itself applies the poison in its own way, meaning that a lion fish would have incredibly potent poison and could probably match the Cursed wombs’ levels. In conclusion, I Ranted about this way longer than I thought I would😅 but I still think that Junpei could Reach Grade 1, maybe with enough Training and support Special Grade, but that’s a stretch. Such a shame we Didn’t get to see more of this character….

I feel like junpei would be a person who can use reverse curse technique and use it on others like shoko and yuta. If his curse technique is poison than the opposite is to heal. I think people with more destructive curse techniques can use rct like sukuna and that one guy with the explosions technique

His Shikigamo could have been goated

I'm a little bit late, but about the way Junpei's technique works, lets compare it with the Ten Shadows Technique, which is like, the main Shikigami technique in the series, to better explain it. The Ten Shadows Technique, apart from the Shikigami, grants the user (Megumi) the ability to manipulate his own shadows to some extent, like storing items, for example. This "trait" present on the Ten Shadows Technique is nothing but a secondary effect of the technique separated from the main effect of the Ten Shadows. Much like that, Junpei's technique is also divided in two effects, that being Poison and the Shikigami Moon Dregs. Moon Dregs is nothing but the secondary effect of his technique: A Shikigami created to mirror the main properties of his technique. The unnamed Shikigami user uses talysmans but don't seem to be very talented at using cursed energy as a whole, so theres also a possibility that talysman summoned Shikigami are a trait of the talysman, not of the user's technique. Now, much like the Ten Shadows, the main effect of a technique, that being Poison in Junpei's case, always has more depth when it comes to learning and mastering it. Another example would be the Limitless, where the main effect, the Infinity technique, is miles tougher to achieve than the attractive force of Blue. To wrap it up, Junpei's technique is divided in two parts, and his main part, poison, wasn't explored at all since he hadn't time to explore it. His technique isn't summoning Shikigami or using Poison, it is actually both. Even Dagon's water based ability showed Shikigami inside of the Domain Expansion, meaning techniques can expand themselves from their original concepts depending on that concept. Junpei's Domain Expansion could very well be a deep water sea minefield of Jellyfish, for example.

I think he should come back and take mahito jugo and nanamis power and help yuji and yuta but not transfiguration but like kenjaku he can take curses and their powers and use them or summon then but he can use their power for a limited amount of time and if he exceeds it can destroy his body slowly or instead have overhaul which he can destroy and rebuild stuff and maybe decay like if he hots them with something their body will slowly break and turn to dust or maybe even summon other fish like shikigami and have water manipulation if its close by which could boost his shikigami with all these could be grade 1 maybe special grade

junepei would at least be a low special grade or high grade 1 sorceror because if he maxed out the size he can make moon and the strength and its unique jelly fish regenerative and cloning abilities that would automatically make him grade one but since mahito said he can also increase the potency of his poison imagine how deadly his poison COULDVE been he wouldve been a great fighter but he lacked the right mindset for it however his potential is easily special grade or grade 1 FOR SURE

even if not grade 2 he would have certainly become at least a semi grade 2 in my opinion

Just like Nanami I think I could be 1st grade not a fantastic technique but can be put to fantastic use with good training and dedication hinding vows could help too. Some headcannons for how Junpei could be super strong: 1. Technically when describing it, Mahito says, "Junpei, your technique is poison, huh." He then goes on to *separately* say that Junpei's shikigami could secret the poison. But Mahito never said that was the *only* way Junpei could produce poison. It's possible that if he advanced his technique enough, Junpei might be able to make his own cursed energy itself poisonous, or produce poison in different forms from his own body. And the precedent for a technique changing this dramatically has already been set e.g. when Geto was able to make Idle Transformation a remote activation instead of a touch which is an insane upgrade. 2. The Irukandji jellyfish is 1 cubic centimeter large, has 1 meter long hair-thin tentacles, is translucent, and is 1000x more poisonous than a tarantula. A few can hospitalize a grown adult. Imagine a dark room filled with deadly jellyfish that are incredibly difficult to see. 3. Junpei's shikigami overcomes its own hand-to-hand combat weakness. The comparison to Sussano was actually really appropriate. Imagine if Junpei could take shelter inside the jellyfish. As demonstrated in Yuji's first fight with Mahito, absorbing blows is a very effective technique. The jellyfish is so rubbery it'd be hard to actually deal a lot of bludgeoning damage to it. Maybe it's still weak to slicing/piercing attacks but it seems to be able to fly and attack from medium range which still gives it a very favorable advantage against melee combatants. Plus there's a chance it insulates him from cursed energy or temperature and has an air/waterproof seal. Random note: Has anyone noticed how almost every important character who dies has had one of their eyes damaged or obscured in some way?

I will make an idea for the end of the Manhua that has no sense. Any sense for the story but as I said it’s my idea. So, our main characters can’t stop Sukuna. They just can’t. But they found (I won’t develop this part) an artifact that can change events of past. But there’s 4 conditions: 1. everyone forgets what happened, 2. Only a 2 or 3 events can be altered but you can’t choose whatever you want, it’s artifact’s choice that needs to follow Universe’s rules. But for this to be applied the user of artifact need to guess what artifact will change. It’s always in form of a riddle, 3. There is always some price defined by what you ask to change, by how it will be change and by this Universe’s rules. So, how it will work. For example you say: “Destroy Sukuna”. Artifact will respond: “Okay, but for this to work you need to choose right person to alter his past so what you said will be made. It’s someone you know and had the most tragic past among all you know”. And now spoiler, the right answer is Junpei. So what will happen with him? Mahito will not be able to kill him AND JUNPEI CAN LIVE!!! But will die during a battle with Sukuna some years later after all the manga we saw. Because this artifact could change only 2 events at a time and no one will be able to remember what happened. It’s the point of it. But as price Yuji’s grandfather will die in a horrible way. YES IT HAS NO SENSE BUT WHY IT CAN’T BE TRUE?! MAYBE GEGE WILL DID THIS I DON’T KNOW!!! I WANT JUNPEI LIVE!!!!!!!!! (and sorry for eventual English errors, I’m not native speaker)

Truthfully Junpei would be a grade 1 tier sorcerer, probably around the level of Nanami if given the right training, if given more I could see him eventually ascending higher but that takes a lot of assuming. From the little we do know, he can produce poison using his cursed energy which is deadly to even those with RCT, he could eventually use this to develop other types of poisons as well. His Shikigami was strong enough to take hits from a goodwill arc Yuji which is impressive (given that he took no damage thanks to it), something even Todo in the Kyoto arc said was strong. I think if given the right circumstance and talent he could be argued to even ascend to special grade 1 or even special grade if you really push it, though we don't know if he would ever actually develop techniques that would allow him to reach this level. Given Junpei literally everything he could hope to achieve as a sorcerer I think arguing him as a special grade would be warranted. A domain expansion that would most likely be instant poisoning which is something RCT can't deal with easily, RCT which allows him to heal himself, a reversal technique that would probably allow him to make antidotes for poisons making him perfect for interrogations, Moondregs would presumably get stronger as well, possibly able to split up into small jellyfishes to allow for a rabbit escape like effect, his maximum would probably be a very very potent poison. I personally do believe that he would be graded as pretty much the peak of special grade 1 with all of this, only due to the fact that we don't know the effects poisons have on cursed spirits, he would be very effective against other sorcerers with all this allowing him to reasonably fight against special grade level characters.
