Scarlet our players are too scared to take risks and give defence-splitting passes, Johnny Evans reminded me of Michael Carrick with those daring passes to forwards making runs, the only times we really threatened were times we turned defence to attack very swiftly. We need to be better with the ball, so we can confidently make swift transitions. I really like the tactics, it is vertical and direct, if we can utilize it very well, we will destroy teams.

i dont think Ten Hag encourages them to play that way. he wants to pass the ball into the net. not play through balls. Johnny Evans just playing how he always played before
@nikhils87617 ай бұрын
I think you are right, Ten Haag did mention making the team best in transitions, as main players come in from injuries and everyone understands each other better for example Hojlunds runs and how to pick him or him creating space for others, better in getting from Phase 2 ( ie Midfield to Attack) the team should look competitive and should be able to go toe to toe with most top teams

I get that the pressure of playing for a top club must be immense but if you're going to take the money and sign the contract like Rashford does you have to put in the effort. This club gave Rashford everything and he repays it by moping about, being selfish and not not pressing like the others.

Ten hag's philosophy is so HARD to learn cos its a dynamic system ...tries to keep the opponents guessing. That's why it's beautiful, those imaginary zones can be occupied by ANY player. But if the team that is meant to implement it is still guessing what to do, that time spent guessing, is an opportunity for the opponents, until they learn, we'll continue to play badly.

@jacobalexander4167 I'm not talking about yesterday's match...man utd are not close to playing like ajax did when he was there. He likes runners, players that are technical on the ball, man united has NO ball carriers, the training is intense (that explains the injuries from my pov). Until they know which roles to take irrespective of their initial starting positions, we'll continue to lose if ten hag decides to play his own styles before those players learn. Most of the goals scored again us this season have been cut backs. How did Germany 🇩🇪 humiliate Brazil 🇧🇷 in the world cup? Through cut backs...until we learn to play as a unit...we'll continue to lose if they don't learn ten hags style but try to play it.

True. United under SAF was never a possession team or a team that dominates. I recalled our games under him since the 90s, most of them were actually pragmatic but effective, efficient counter attack. We would have lesser possession than the other team but our defence was resilient, our midfield was precise in terms of passing and our strikers were excellent poachers and finishers. We would have lesser passes completed but more shots.

Good point about Ten Hag's managerial philosophy. It could very well be that he is rigid and doesn't allow players to take initiative. When you look at City, Arsenal, and Liverpool, the players definitely have that flexibility. They cover for each other and score prolifically. We tend to panic in unusual situations and don't take our chances. It could be fear of mistakes, or it could simply be the lack of continuity due to injury. Difficult to tell. I hope it's the latter, and the confidence he's shown in Evans and Hannibal suggest he is willing to trust his players.
@martinpalazzotto26177 ай бұрын

@mbarakbakar22967 ай бұрын
I think Casemiro, Fernandes and Rashford are now unfairly blamed for the ongoing team struggles. The trio have been overused last season and didn't have sufficient time to enjoy their holidays when the season ended. They were engaged in UEFA Nations Cup and later forced to join their fellow club team mates in pre season tour. The said players are now in fatigue mood unable to retrieve their previous form statues. EtH need to be aware of this so as to work on such issues. The gaffer should provide playing time to our youth or squad players to relieve those tired legs. From this integration of promising talents,we may witness imminent progress in our transition. Competition for places in this team will equip all players spiritually.
@isahibrahim74147 ай бұрын
@@mbarakbakar2296this is no excuse especially for Rashford, dude is younger than Fernandez who has played more minutes, runs alot more and older, Rashford's problem isn't fatigue but with his mentality of feeling he has completed football after playing well a few games, his pressing has gone down steadily with each passing season since his debut
@ALWAYSWRONG-LOL7 ай бұрын
I also question if Erik ten Hag clearly illustrates which zones each players position covers in transition defense scenarios when they step out of their coverage area. Some players lose focus and become unaware of their surroundings not being able to decipher opposing teams attacking sequences. Experience and high I.Q is mandatory to create a championship caliber squad. We are slowly going to get better. Without a doubt sky's the limit. I truly believe we need to implement different tactics when approaching certain opposition. I love the 4-2-3-1 formation but I also understand lines can be broken and certain zones become exposed due to risky possessions or inadequate player movements. It starts with zone coverage. Each defensive,midfield and attacking lines in game communication should be coexisting at all times. Triangulation and knowing their angles around the pitch to manipulate each zone to their advantage is essential. “Going back to basics and start winning” means what exactly? To me that means implementing a 4-4-2 or a 4-4-1-1 and playing collectively since we can't rely on one player to make a difference or change the game with their presence. That’s just in the beginning of the game then we transition into other offensive tactics once we understand how our opponents are defending us. Or simply impose our established play style and regardless of how they try to stop us they won't. This manager should consider hiring a few tactical analysts and hear them out. If they are delusional, kick them to the curb. If they bring value it may transcend this club. We were on the path to winning 3 out of 4 competitions last year. We almost had a treble with no Premier league title. Something went wrong and we obviously needed improvements not only with new players but also with new personnel. People who transmit passion with common sense and humility. Yes, strong defense wins trophies, creative offense makes you a game winner. Insightful analysis Mr. Scarlet report. Thank you for your time.

With Ambrabat coming on,i hope we can have a progressor from the midfield that we desperately need. Mejbri,what a player. Hungry. The amount of tackles he won for us in the final third was great coming from no 10 position. He prevented what Erikson didnt in the game vs Bayern. I seriously felt that with hungry players like him,we can play and defend much better. I think our team when everyone comes back would be great,i hope so. Hojlind had a bad game. He looked little tired with his passing. Rashford as alwyas is a mercenary. I dont really like him. I dont think we can play any style if he is on the team. With the way we wanna play,with a tall striker,i think Sancho would be an asset but that idiot just dont wanna back down. Let him ho down in the drain. Anyways,we keep going and hope we keep grinding results. Dalot should have had an assist yesterday. Defense isnt very mobile,they dont follow their markers but i think it was Tenhags plan to grind result. I think we are gonna see a lot of games like this till we gain some momentum.
