The RCMP are going to be held accountable by the public, but not by the government or themselves. The new Commissioner did an outstanding job of not answering two excellent questions.

Vlad the inhaler, I certainly hope not and what are you talking about jurisdictions, the RCMP is Canada wide, not sure what you are referring to there, but the RCMP play a vital role in law enforcement and should never be phased out.

@@timandsuelegere7231 ...they are being "phased out" in some areas or jurisdictions in Canada in favor of "private police forces"...there was a day when the R.C.M.P were a valuable resource and trusted..those days are gone and they can only blame themselves for their misdeeds.

@@Dracoool we have always had private police forces the RCMP handles specialized cases and assistance to local forces when requested you could think of them as equivalent to the FBI in the states

Lets not forget that Gabriel Woortman, NOT RCMP, is the sole person to blame for this tragic event. ALL emergency personnel did their best to respond to a murderous rampage that was premeditated and designed to avoid detection.

This might be controversial but, the RCMP officers are NOT the problem. The government is the problem. There are not enough officers to cover all areas of responsibility and lack of training because of poor funding. Police services need better funding not less. Training for all situations should take up a minimum 30% of their time.

It was so typical RCMP. Ask anyone who has worked with them. The only way to change it is Provincial Police. These guy are taught to be mounties 1st. Policemen and public servants a distant 2nd

This was a very bad thing that happened but if Blackface Trudeau won't apologize for calling Canadian's who disagree with his views racist and extremist when should this Commissioner? When his boss Trudeau who as Prime Minster sets the example won't or answer a simple question.
