"Everybody is the hero of their own story" When people sympathise with the empire they really just mean the troopers. Many of them were on backwater planets with little chance in life. A lot of the troopers HAD to serve the empire to support families. Not to mention in some cases the rebels were actual terrorists sense not all rebels were united under one rebel alliance.

I really want a movie from the Empire's perspective. With strong characters like an Imperial Patriot, a kid loosing his father who were a Stoormtrooper etc. Just potray them as normal and caring people. And of course, none of them joins the Rebels in the end... The climax of the movie could be a dangerous mission against the Rebels, who serve as the villains. Maybe a heartbreaking scene, where a Stoormtrooper loses his best friend during battle.

When the Death Star was destroyed about half of the 501st legion was still in the hanger getting into their ships. Of those who made it out another third were caught in the explosion, I'd fought with some of those men for over 20 years. Afterwards those of us that survived hooked up with a nearby imperial fleet making a retaliated strike on the rebels base on Yavin 4. It wasn't the best thought out plan but we were cut off from our leaders, tired and operating on instinct. If not for our training, we probably never have gotten past their orbital defences. And so the battle over Yavin came to end, I'm told we destroyed hundreds of rebel ships that day, even if it had been thousands... it wouldn't have made up for the Death Star. - Last Surviving Clone of the 501st.

Something dark to think about: During Vader's death scene on the 2nd death star, You can vaguely hear and blaster bolts. There were no rebels besides Luke on the ship,And the blaster bolts from ships sound completely different, So it most likely would have been Imperial's troops shooting each other in order to get spots on the evacuation ships.

Maybe don’t name it the *death* star. Maybe something like the Patriot Star.

So it was basically the empire’s 9/11.

In the films, the Empire was portrayed as evil with no redeemable qualities. I love how the video showed the Empire was mostly composed of many normal people with real emotions, some as technicians while others joined the Stormtroopers for a cause to fight for and believe in. I feel like a lot of this tragedy could’ve been avoided had the Emperor and Tarkin been a little less arrogant. They decided for the most destructive or largest weapons they could, as opposed to the most practical choices, like the Defender. This is really when “go big or go home” comes back to haunt you.

Remember, Tarkin refused to evacuate any personal on the death star.

I respect that they honored the Imperial members who died on the Death Star but they killed billions on Alderron and billions more if it was still operational

I want a documentary style movie or mini series done from the imperial's perspective about the destruction of the death star. Like with testimonials of survivors and dramatic reenactments. Frame the whole thing like a publication made for the loyalist imperial citizens to try to capitalize on the 'tragic act of wanton terrorism' to stir up support for the empire and vilify the rebels. Bunch of really sappy heart tugging scenes like an elderly mother clutching holos of her two sons that were killed on the station type stuff.

When you realise that rebals actually didn't care about all these prisoners in death star prisons, and killed with cold blood hundreds of people who helped them

Wow the thumbnail picture, most gripping thumbnail I’ve ever seen. The ghosts of the fallen troops - fallen friends- reaching out to their one man that still lived . And the most moving part is when that one man that still lived reaches out back to them, kind of like reaching out trying to save them even though they’re long gone and their ghost of a memory is the only thing still there. A very moving picture for sure, it makes Darry Vader and the empire seem much more human almost like ourselves

Even with all the people on the station with families, the Death Star’s destruction was ultimately a good thing and not something Luke should ever be condemned for. Would it have been nice if most of the non-fighter staff had evacuated before it went kablam? Sure, I bet even Luke wishes that some nights. But Tarkin was a fool and that didn’t happen. That’s the reality of war- no participant walks away unscathed, and not all splash damage comes from explosions

Is it just me that would like to see a Star Wars story from the perspective of a normal person who supports the empire for reasons other than fear or personal gain? Something like a story of an inquisitor who thought they were doing the right thing betraying the Jedi or the story of a stormtrooper conscript would be cool.

These weren’t just storm troopers to people they were friend’s and family, the workers and operators weren’t just mindless drones they were civilians.

There had to be at least one person stationed on the death star who was from alderaan.

I always go for the bright side but i do feel for the stormtroopers, the soldier,... too you know. Like, i know what they did,I.KNOW. but i just feel really bad for the familys and the people that loses their loved ones and friends too.

I'd also imagine that there was considerable despair in the economic and finance centers. How much does a Death Star cost? How much time, resources, and manpower? And don't forget that many of them were slaves working on nationalized industries, so the Empire was basically shooting itself in the foot with this setup. And then the Death Star was destroyed, meaning all that time, energy, and resources were wasted.

The Empire learned how Alderaan's survivors felt.

The rebels being terrorists could be a possible accusation if their attack was a preemptive strike. But after the destruction of Alderaan I see it as self defence and therefore morally justifiable. Edit: Spelt 'Being' wrong.

Yareal Poof was killed when the Death Star exploded. As he worked as a chef on the battle station after Order 66. He tried to get into an Escape Pod with hopes of joining the Rebellion. But as soon as he launched the pod it was TO late.

I'd love to see a short about Luke on Corasont helping people the Jedi way then at the end of the day he goes to the memorial for the Death Star workers and pays his respects/ cries.
