The 3rd party support was a huge deal. EA famously actually released more games on the Genesis than Sega themselves did after being almost exclusively a PC game developer.

Yeah its deft my favorite looking console. But only the model 1. I never liked the look of the model 2

Doesn't matter what model 2 looked like it still played all the sega genesis games do you care about the model of the console or the games?

Nothing wrong with the model 2 I think it has more to do with personal preference

Nice video. I would like to point out 2 things. According to wikipedia, Nintendo has released 71 games on SNES whilst Sega has released 232 games on Genesis. Those number alone explain Sega's approach to the market a lot. Also, according to some sources (not wikipedia this time), the Genesis outsold the SNES in the North America. The Super Nintendo sold more units globally because it was a titan in Japan, selling like 10x more than the Mega Drive. So if those numbers are really true, the poking campaign actually made the difference.

Great video Thank you letting me know about your video. 😀 when we were little our parents didnt buy us much games we had sonic 2 and greendog and i think tmnt or mortak kombate cant remember my brother's sold everything to eb games :( even our nes we had mario 3 and duck hunt... anyways thank you for the video it was great to hear the history of Sega i have 2 books to catch up and read on Sega.. 😀

About the speed thing...actually the genesis had a faster processor. While the SNES had more colors

Sega genesis is faster better controls to the games better music better quality way more games and still more coming in 2024 more mature games better model of the console last way longer console doesn't turn yellow and we got 6 button controller

Sega's biggest win was breaking into the 3rd party devs and stopping Nintendo's stranglehold on them. Then their biggest loss was losing those same 3rd parties the very next generation.

I stop playing nintendo because all the games they were putting out just wasn't my type of games I would play sega genesis had all the great games that was awsome to play if you look at nintendo now all they putting out is crappy games on the switch
