There is a lot of hypocrisy in the West, 1. When USA was afraid of an anthrax outbreak in 2001 they manufactured anthrax medication in violation of a patent owned by Bayer. Then when South Africa, India and other countries were worried about anti-retro-vials for HIV, the medicine was too expensive America was busy threatening them with sanctions if they produced a cheaper generic version of the drugs. Did you remember how the Americans discovered a medication for Ebola once an American citizen was infected. This was 40 days after the epidemic was discovered. 2. When Rwanda wanted to develop a domestic textile industry they banned 2nd hand clothing and now the Americans want to throw Rwanda out of AGOA. It means Rwandans will be unable to sell vegetables and fruits to American unless they agree to wear 2nd hand clothing. 3.After European banks had lent Greece billions and couldn't repay Greece has been forced to sell its assets to Germany. German companies now own 15 airports and 1 port in Greece. They still want Greece to sell its post office, the power supply company, smaller ports along the coast and various Islands. The same thing they accuse China of doing. When you deal with a Chinese they are direct we shall give you a loan to build a railway and you will repay with 2% interest for 25 years. When you deal with the West they tell you if you want a loan to build your railway you need to open your markets to ensure our farmers in America can sell their dairy and other products, we also want you allow our airline land in your airports. When dealing with the West they tell you that if you don't hold elections we will not give you money for a water project as if water and election are somehow co-related.

China wants America to pay the *Hundreds of trillions of dollars they owe to Africa over centuries of Slavery* , and colonization of India, and it cannot be let off the hook by print paper money as the US has done in the past. No. Communist domination is a threat to the world. Communism killed millions of people in WW2 and afterwards. Mao (the first Communist leader of China) literally killed innocent Chinese farmers because of his hatred for capitalism. China plans to dominate Africa in some ways the Europeans did to our ancestors. First they act like they're looking for good relations. Then when they know they have you tightly in their grasp, they make unexpected demands that come out ad troubling.

As per normal the western press is always biased. American media seemed to suggest loans from China are bad and US and western loans are good. With more loans the debt to GDP ratio of course went up whether they were from China or US. Simple maths. The fact US and other western media refused to clarify was that for many countries the China debt constituted a much smaller portion of the total debts than those provided by the IMF and US or western loans. The same went to Sri Lanka as well as other African countries.

we are arguably witnessing the start of the decline of the American empire, much like Great Britain's decline following WW2. America is losing its influence, slowly but surely. It is being overtaken and this loss of influence isn't being helped by the current US government. Much like Britain following WW2, America is becoming heavily distracted by issues inside its own borders and society, and so its influence outside of the US is slipping. It will inevitably slip from its position as the world's most powerful country in the coming decade.

China has military and strategical interest , that's the only reason China is pouring so much money for into poor countries. for instance the Sri Lankan port. China spent a billion dollars on rebuilding the port which critics say was not required coz, the traffic at the port is nill. And now Sri Lanka had to lease out the port to China coz it couldn't repay the loan. Why China is interested in that Sri Lankan port? Well, the port is strategically important for China's domination on the Indian Ocean as it is close to southern india. China also tried to deploy submarines, and Chinese vessels near the port. But Sri Lanka declined it for now.

It’s evident the US just wants to stay as the sole big superpower that commands respect from everyone. While some of its qualities are respectable, ie. technology, its soft power, etc. trying to contain China’s rise because it doesn’t want to be knocked off the pinnacle are not one of those qualities I admire. Countries should band together to help each other, not trying to outmaneuver each other.

At least it's not as bad as the actual cold war got (yet). The one good thing is that the USA and China are not trying to export opposing systems to the same countries, so maybe it won't be as bad.

China is doing what the US did in the 1900s. Nowadays we haven’t been active on international infrastructure projects, except USAID, which is about 50-60 billion annually. Between 1945-1961, the US spent around 700 billion dollars into rebuilding the world, or the nations aligned with the US.

China isn't forcibly occupying the countries where they have trade. The U.S. has been fighting proxy wars since the world war, to first weaken the country then take over it, just like Iraq. China isn't trying to takeover these countries. China has given them funds to build infrastructure that is beneficial for both parties. But, isn't it obvious that in case of a inability to repay makes them take up the resource, but here they are just having it for years of lease. The U.S. is afraid of losing its competitive edge and world leadership.
