One of the benefits being a neutral nation is being a safe money making pit for superpowers. Even more so when the neutral nation is strategically located in the middle of most important trade route that had been established for millenia. Neither western bloc or eastern bloc is willing to lose that nation's favor in fear that she will be upset and favor the opposite bloc more. Typically, any nation leaders voice from south east asia would be taken seriously from both blocs and they both would stop their opposite bloc from controlling that region. The downside of it is, a neutral nation in southeast asia can never be allowed by both blocs to exceed a certain cap in military strength. Having a new superpower who have full control over malaccan strait would change the global trades forever and the trade routes would need to add another thousands of nautical miles if they are upset and refuse to let anyone pass through.

@FF-ch9nr
@FF-ch9nr Жыл бұрын
I think the military cap only applies if we seek non western allied weaponry. I doubt Uncle Sam would give a limit if Malaysia let them set up a base here or made all Malaysian fleet and assets US made. Doesn’t mean Malaysia can ever be a world power though, (we just don’t have the land size and population size) but I think ASEAN as a whole can potentially be a world power if we manage to become more united and industrialised like EU. I genuinely think in a few decades, if current trends continue, Indonesia and Vietnam alone can become bona fide future world powers that would literally be too big to sanction to cause any real harm to them at that point.
@lagubrok92
@lagubrok92 Жыл бұрын
@@FF-ch9nr Indeed, the cap is there if we want to buy weapons from the non-allied bloc. Giving our certain area to them to set up their base is the same as giving a knife to a serial killer before we sleep. Look what happened at Indonesia when they wanted to buy Su35S. Malaysia too, when they showed that they were interested with Russia's offer of their newest SU30SM2 and anti missile and aircraft system, Murica pressured both countries to not doing so. The problem with Murica made weapons is you'll be tied to them. Their weapons are more restrictive than the non-allied made weapons. That looks like a major red flag to me.

Ever since the Sept-11 incident, US seems to have closed its door or pull out from Malaysia. Long multiple entry Visa for Malaysian canceled, and travelled into US becomes restrictive and expensive for Malaysians. Before that Amcham, MAS (Malaysia American Society), MACEE, American University's Alumni in Malaysia, the American businesses, the American Embassy were all very active and thriving with lots of activities and events being held and organized. The business - business and people to people interactions between both countries were flourishing. Now they are all seems to be quiet and dormant.

90% of "Malaysians" stated the US deserved 9/11 and cheered for it. That's why. The problem is Malaysia is also turning into a Corrupt incompetent religiously intolerant country. Run by corrupt political families with minsters being their sons and daughters. Is anyone surprised the 1Malaysia scandal happened for so long? That they lost track of Mh70 airplane? Add in state sanctioned approval for religious persecution of Christians and non Muslims, and you have a country wanted to be a world power but not showing anything that would prove it.

Malaysia is not overly dependent on the US for trade. The US is Malaysia 3rd largest export markets after China and Singapore. The depreciation of the ringgit has nothing to do with its dependence on the US neither does it have to do with Trump. Its because the instability of our government, the corruption scandals, etc. High inflation in the US is forcing the Federal Reserves to increase interest rates aggresively, while inflation in Malaysia is under control. Bank Negara is not in such a rush to increase rates. The Ringgit will eventually strengthen. I believe the US will be in a recession. While the huge amount of investments coming to Malaysia recently will at least cushion some impact of an American recession and my bet is that the Ringgit will strengthen.

Both countries interdependent and benefit. US got a good location to manufacture their goods that are cost competitive , and expansion . Malaysia got the job market for the graduates and operators. The local SME benefits as raw material/ sub-contract supplier , the houses has buyers . Even neighbor Singapore benefit as regional Sales HQ or whatsoever. It’s the economy ecology that win-win , as long as is commercial investment without political intention.

In the world of medical I am not so sure but most of my Indian friends did mention there is alot of Indian experts physician in hospitals nowadays especially private so they pretty much dominated that, so yeah I stand by what i said because i could clearly see there is an equal of opportunity when it comes to career and business wise in Malaysia, however there is a big inequality in the opportunity of higher education in terms of non bumiputera having a hard time getting into big University as compared to bumiputeras

So xsalah klu malaysia pro barat sbb malaysia dan barat ni sama pendapat dan keinginan, amerika syarikat punya budaya dh lama kembang di malaysia sejak tahun 1960 lagi dan walaupun jauh ia tetap destinasi terbaik melancong, eh come on negara kuasa besar dunia kot sapa je berani lawan, amerika syarikat klu dh komited untuk keamanan dia xkn sanggup kuarkan bajet besar yg negara len xmampu biayai untuk keselamatan dunia punya psl even ada agenda lain, and melalui amerika kita dpt manfaat besar dengan menjalin hubungan dengan semua sekutunya yg terdekat di rantau Asia pasifik yg itu pun dh bantu negara ini, sebagai contoh jepun dan eropah

1. As a Malaysian I still remember how US tried to bully us and cause the 1998 ASEAN ECONOMIC Crisis.. I was young but badly affected by it. >> A lot of lives were lost and damaged when many people got bankrupt and lost their income, their homes and subsequently their health.. >> I've seen people suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning.. Their children were my classmates / neighbors..

a lot of of Singapore's worker are from Malaysia, why some company choose SG over Malaysia as worker pay in Malaysia is cheaper? I think because its easier for SG based company to get global funding. by the way...google choose sg over msia, and data center don't create lot of jobs.

Funny. . . Dreaming. America not allowed. Hahaha China try but can not be happen. Hahaha Malaysia? 😂😂😂 We have more resources than Malaysia..😂😂😂 don't be too ambitious and arrogant. According to IMF Philippines have higher GDP and more gold reserved than Malaysia. Philippines debt to china 1,1B USD. Malaysian debt is 22B USD to china. Remember we are not Muslim country but we love our Filipino Muslim brothers. In Philippines constitution voice of the people more powerful than govt. . . The govt served and protect the people. . Don't be too ambitious and arrogant. Again stop bullying Filipino people and Philippines govt. . .

@@mugiwaragang no bruh, the original design posted in the competition had blue and white stripes, and had red canton with white crescent and stars. There are some inspiration from Majapahit but it also contains most inspiration from the flag of Johor at the time. After the design was chosen with a public vote, they changed the color schemes and the stars from a 5-pointed one to eventually the one we know today.

The US need the moon too, so we Malaysians are ready to share our moon with them. Without the moon, it seemed too wild and dangerous. Yeah, we have only 1 star. We make use of and enjoy the multitudes of stars from the US.
