That was painful, it's not a nuclear weapon in space. It's a nuclear powered EW system, the Soviets had been doing nuclear powered satellites in space since the 60s. They are not planning to put a nuclear bomb into space and violate the treaty. We've also used nuclear power in space, but perhaps not to the same extent as the Soviets/Russians. It's hardly something new, people have been writing on these various projects for years. I wouldn't lose sleep over the whole thing. Neither side wants to go to war with each other.
