I discovered some interesting observations about the Zeppelin Bend, Hunter's Bend, Ashley's Bend and Alpine Butterfly Bend knots that you might not be away of. All of these bends are great ways to join two ropes together.

fyi, your Hunters Bend is incorrect, please research other examples of it and you'll find the standing end comes into the knot on one side and the tag end goes out the other side, in your example they are on the same side and incorrect. I believe what you tied is called a False Zeppelin Bend as the JRB Tree Climbing yt channel discusses in one of his vids and it is not a secure knot. Even though this is 2yrs old I wanted to bring to your and viewers attention, do your own due diligence to make sure your knots are correct and secure.

You will see at 1:43 that I put the tag end though opposite sides so they are not on the same side as you suggest. I did not finish tying the knot so I can understand if you are confused. I appreciate you keeping me on my toes and sorry for the delayed response.
