If they will not hunt the population of giraffes will rise and then they will eat more food and there will be less food for other herbivores animals and so you see how beautifully the cycle of nature is designed that no one can starve to death

@@MrDingo-lo7zs But the population is not able to rise dangerously high. Food is scarce in most places. But yes lions need to hunt giraffes since they are their last real predators, not only for giraffes but all big fauna living in Africa. So lions can't go extinct.

Clearly it was several lionesses that took it down not 2. I doubt those 2 could have succeeded without some luck of the others joining in the hunt.

This was amazing! Never seen only two lions take down a giraffe before, very impressive footage. Of course, it is sad to see the beautiful giraffe go but that is nature after all and the beautiful lionesses need to eat as well. Outstanding work guys!

Those lions are lithe and beautiful. Really lean and mean! You can see they probably don't eat often because they aren't plump or anything, but they're well-fed enough to stay strong, and they're crazy muscular!

@@micaharchive hyena packs can have up to 80 plus often predators don't eat other carnivores. Hyena's bite force is too strong though and the rotting flesh will cause a nasty infection

Lions don't feed on hyenas. They only kill them to reduce their competition for food.

Came here from ZeFrank. I've recently dove into learning about lions and their world. So, I used this video as a means to impress me. Subscribed and am now going to treat myself to more videos as I finish up my work day. Great video and great job showing the circle of life and how these amazing animals are & how they work together to survive. I only hope we as humans don't run them to extinction.

Lions always use their advantage and their strongest features. Unfortunately for the Giraffe, it didn't use it's legs fully right from the beginning. It kept on running unstrategically coz of fear.

I saw this on a documentary about two lion prides fighting against each other. If I'm not wrong, the other pride comes in and steals the giraffe kill from this lionesses and their cubs.

I also already checked out the website that link takes me to; it has a link to watch the full production but then I apparently have to be a TV professional with accreditations in order to sign up for the "Over The Fence" site... which I obviously can't do, because I ain't a TV professional, I'm just a average Joe who doesn't have cable asking "where the heck can I watch this?!"

If you look at National Geographic Wild you can search for “Lion Kingdom.” In other parts of the world, you will find under the name “The Lions Rule.”

And you may want to check how you casually point people to your website, which redirects to a place that 98% of folk can't sign up for (Over The Fence requires showing TV accreditations, even says "if you aren't TV "professionals", don't bother applying") to watch the program. Also, my country of origin is in my profile. Literally 15 seconds of clicking on it would have shown that, so the bit about what it is in Germany is meaningless... I do want to applaud you giving out what it is on Nat Geo tho, because it's not listed on your website what it's named for other broadcasters on your social media, or on the website, Merely "The Lions Rule"...

Moral:if you are a giraffe, and you see two lions coming at you, just kick them. Why would you run?! You are heckin strong, you can falcon kick, a lion is one shot for you. Just two accurate kicks, and done
