I'm here in Dublin, and I suspect I'm a hell of a lot better informed about the NHS next door than some odd troll like you. The NHS has not 'collapsed' - far from it, although of course it's having the same difficulties as most stressed medical systems are having right now with supply chains and logistics. Otherwise, it's just about staying ahead of the curve, despite the difficulties.

We have a form of NHS here in Australia called MEDICARE. Don't know why America is so scared of it, healthcare for all and shouldn't bankrupt anyone, if you are you working you pay about a 1% levy on your gross wages to help the poor. If you are unemployed all of your healthcare is bulk billed and your prescriptions are heavily subsidised by the Government. When I'm out of a job and doing it tough I certainly don't ever mind paying tax in the past. What goes around comes around. Basic health care should be a right whether poor or rich.

It’s weird to realize that there are still people who have lived through what we see nowadays as historical events. What I mean is, we will all eventually experience a part of history that will be remembered, but I think that most of us see WWII as a major event in human history, that happened a long time ago. However, it has not been that long since the war has ended, and knowing that soldiers and nurses who fought to save the world from what could have been a terrible fate are still alive, makes us acknowledge the fact that without these people, none of us would be living this freely. I’m 17 and to me (and probably a lot of people my age or older), 1945 doesn’t seem closer than the Dark Ages or the Victorian era, since I’ve only learned about it in books and during history class, but seeing that someone who fought WWII is still alive and doing great things genuinely helps me see that only 80 years ago, millions of people died willingly to ensure a future for their children, and are still able to make the world a better place by showing that they have never given up and can still fight. Walking 100 laps for a good cause might not seem like a big deal to young people, but doing so after 100 years of existence is admirable.

My Mother, God Rest Her Soul, was born in 1929. The last 5 years of her life I spent with her and she told me so many stories about life during WWII. She convinced me, you were all the Greatest Generation, and when the last of you are gone, you will be missed terribly missed. God Bless You Sir.

He is 100 today and raised £30m. Her Majesty bestowed an Honorary Colonel rank on him for his old Army regiment, and there was a fly past by of an old Royal Air Force Spitfire and Hurricane over his house this morning. I live near this gent and saw them from my back garden.

Captain Tom Moore, from a working class town in the north of England, served in the army, from rags to riches he became a successful business man making his own money, he visited his ill wife every day for 5 years whilst she was in a nursing home & raised 40 million+ for the NHS, at the age of 100, inspiring! What an amazing person

I'm mildly obsessed with this man (In a good way so nothing to worry about Captain Tom!), not just because he's a hero for his service to the NHS now and to the country 80 years ago; but because of his grace and poise when he speaks in interviews. He's human and so must have his faults but I'm really struggling to imagine what they could be.
