The fact that these women smile and laugh about their crimes show they have no remorse and are still a danger to society. So far none of them deserve early release. As for Sarah Pender she is absolutely a narcissist who thinks she is the smartest person in the room. She truly believes that she is so smart and yet she claims she was too dumb to realize she was being used by her boyfriend. She tried to come across as sympathetic to her victims but throws in digs about them discrediting them. She is exactly where she deserves to be. She is a manipulative woman for sure. Edit: Martha is the first one I've seen that actually seems to be rehabilitated.

I don't feel like I can decide that as I didn't know Sarah Pender and I was not there. I do know the motive and evidence against her was very weak. People that have def killed and killed more people have received less sentence wise. Also people in for drugs sometimes get heavier sentences than murderers. It makes no sense.

It was later found that he had a snitch list of more than 17 people including pander, he would testify against. @socaldeb

I don't agree with Sara being retaliated against due to the prison staff's incompetence (being forced to live in solitary confinement). At least slap an ankle tracking monitor on her, send her back out to general population, and train your staff better (or hire more competent staff). It's not likely she'll do it again, but if she does, blame your incompetence once again.

Gosh, that girl who has 4 kids, man. That poor 9 year old should not have to grow up that way, “being strong” while both of her parents are in & out of prison, not getting it together to give her what she needs. Pisses me off, as a mom. I get that addiction wrecks your life, but the kids deserve better.

This interview with Sarah Pender convinces me her sentence is harsh, and she deserves a chance for parole, as she is not the trigger person in these murders. Even the hardest criminals (i.e. Loveless and Tackett who tortoured and killed Shanda Sharer) get released. Indiana: for every year of good behavior, a year is wiped off your sentence. THose girls should NEVER have been released.

Marshall Sean Harlan What was it like, Being the most wanted woman in America? Sarah Jo Pender Horrible. You can't ever relax. The key is moving forward, It's a waste of time looking back. You did something, you didn't do something, It doesn't really matter. Is what you do now, today, tomorrow. You've got to have goals. A plan... You always got to have a plan. Marshall Sean Harlan Is that why you started dealing pot with Rick? Sarah Jo Pender Rick was small-time. He hardly broke even. Drew was screwing him over, So I... I got the idea that we should branch out. Took him up to Purdue, And that was pretty much the last normal day of my life. I never hurt anyone. I'm a good person. What are you doing? Marshall Sean Harlan You paint a pretty picture, Sarah. Sweet girl, wrong place, wrong time, But a lot of those other people, they paint a much darker one Extortion, coercion, manipulation, murder. Sarah Jo Pender I'm not a murderer. Marshall Sean Harlan Tell me the truth about that night. It's not gonna change your situation. Sarah Jo Pender You really think I would've planned to kill them In my house with a shotgun I bought the day before? Marshall Sean Harlan Maybe. Maybe you planned to make it look Like Rick's idea all along. Rick She's still alive! Marshall Sean Harlan Who would the cops believe? A petty criminal or a pretty physics major? "when it comes to survival, I think Sarah is capable of doing anything." That's a quote from your father. All I know is That you will say, or do, anything To get what you want. Sarah Jo Pender You know something, marshal Harlan? You're a lot more handsome in person than you are on TV. You must work out a lot.

Are you Americans ever wondering why you are leading basically all statistics conserning the matter? Not only prisoners, but crimes as well. Why?
@amym4624
@amym4624 Жыл бұрын
Socioeconomic disparities and enabling is the short version. Most of the time, people who are sent to jail/prison have never had stability before. Poverty and crime runs rampant, drugs are easy to acquire, addiction and mental illness aren’t treated properly. A lot of cities that have high rates of homelessness and drug addicts will just build encampments to try to get them off the streets; however, the city governments lacks funding to really peel back the layers to see the issue is far deeper than surface level. Rehab isn’t cheap, and a lot of the convicts families don’t have the funds. Welfare is easy to come by so the desire to change one’s situation wanes, because why work when you get housing, loads of welfare depending on the amount of kids you have, and virtually no resources to help them change the cycle? Sometimes I wish the American prison system were way harsher, like Russian prisons. Perhaps then the recidivism rate might actually improve.

@@amym4624 About your last chapter. Are you sure about that? Could it be another way round? Why is it then, that somewhere else, like in Scandinavia, where governments are offering lots of social help and assistant for the ones who have difficulties to support themselves and their families, crime rates are much lower than in USA? Prison sentences there are also more lenient, and people are considered to be much happier (international surveys), and they also have much less people in jails, crime rates in general are much lower etc?

You must have missed the part where she knowingly aided her BF in the disposal and cover up of the two people he murdered. She admits she didn't call police or try whatsoever to get help! She claims she was too "scared" to call police on him. Ask yourself this: Would a woman who has the guts to escape from a maximum security prison seriously be too afraid to find a way out from her BF who just murdered two people? I highly doubt it! She knew where the shotgun was at and never turned it on him. Hell, she's the one to bought the shotgun to begin with! The only places where I see that we're messed up is people like you who only skim through information picking out the parts you find most interesting instead of looking at all of the facts.
