As a PSV fan, back when he played for us you just knew the moment he opened up on that left side and started taking aim that it was going on target. Always on target. It was special seeing him dart on the wing and create chances out of nothing. I feel like we now see PSV Gakpo again and I so hope that Slot gets to play him the same way because he's so good if he can!

Gakpo is an inside forward. His best position is to play on the left and he'll produce goals and assists. The best Frontline for Liverpool is Salah on the right, Jota through the middle and Gakpo on the left.

i really like gakpo cuz he gives me hope,im not as tall as gakpo,im like 6'1or6'2 but most ppl say i should play basketball,though there are many professional players my height,most ppl really doubt me,gakpo reminds me the height really doesnt matter and i actually watch him play alot and he plays very similarly to me,or at least he does in my head ,so keep going strong Gakpo,i hope slot actually plays him in his right position haha

Don’t feel bad…I am 6’3 and both footed (truly equal curlers and knuckle on either foot from long range). They tried to convert me to left back said it was my only route when I went pro. I refused played CAM and wing. Just keep at it…especially work on your calves…it will help with your overall acceleration and that’s what you need especially with smaller opponents.

@@ryan.nazario no worries mate….I could play left back….I just didn’t like it. Old school football and couldn’t go forward. I had to stay rooted and that’s not who I am. Not sure if I made the right choice, but all hindsight. I had way too much to offer going forward (shooting, dribbling and passing) then to sit in the back. The reason I say that is because keepers don’t like being dribbled around and the last one I did that to decided to take me out and cause me severe ligament damage in my ankle. All good though….best of luck.

Watching Gakpo at the Euro's has reignited faith in him. Issue is, he came in to replace Luiz Diaz and Diogo Jota. A Manchester United target, a Liverpool replacement. 3rd choice. To start up front, Darwin isn't as good exG, thus gets an opportunity. Post Klopp/Euros, he'd be my left winger. Slott has a lovely problem to have.

@@77_ACE.This is funny when people say this You only play the big teams say the top tier man city arsenal and say Chelsea united or spurs eve though they are not what they used to be they will always throw money around and do have quality players just not in good shape with Thier managers styles etc but let's just say those are the top tier sides And you play each one twice that's only 6/9 games Now if a player scores in all those and then that's it then what about all the rest of the games now if a player scores consistently against all the lower tier mid tier sides averaging a goal a game or every two games what's worth more The title is won over a season not in 6 games right so this idea is that someone is off because they don't score against the big sides is strange because there are equally players that never turn up in the games against lower sides so it's actually good to have someone that does that the best strikers and attackers just pick up goals consistently against whoever and over the course of the season 16 goals and x amount of assists is good because especially amongst a side that has 3/4 of these players thats how you win titles In the old days you would rely on a striker a lot more than we do now

In my opinion, Gakpo was picked to be Salah successor, because LFC main man is Salah and other 2 frontman play as supporting roles for Salah providing assisting or make a run through for space. Once Salah is gone, Nunez can position more in the center and Gakpo will be back to his inside forward position.

I guess I was the only person not surprised about Gakpo. Like not at all. To be honest, he didn't bring much different than at Liverpool. He drives the ball forward with confidence and will always try to shoot at least one shot. He assists at an elite level and rarely gets other mates to knock in his quality passes. Go back and watch the replays. The thing is, he doesn't do well in rotation, and he only ever plays in rotation with the reds. He knows he's going to start with the Dutch, and we can see he thrives with that.

i believe if micky van de ven got into the defence second half of the match against england we wouldn't have lost. van de ven played very well our coach did that every match but for some reason he didn't this time. they actually attacked through our left side defence and scored the winning goal. micky van de ven is amazing you could do a video on him. he's my favorite player of the dutch squad

Gakpo and Diaz on the left. Nunez and Jota as striker, Salah and ? on the right. There is alot of midfielders like Endo, Szobo, Macca, Elliot, Jones and maybe Trent. Carvalho has been playing well and has to be given a chance as well. Slot has big decisions.
