Thank you, this video just gave me a little bit of hope. I started this school year in a new high school but I decided to go back to my former one because the level was better. I've had to catch up on almost 6 weeks of classes. I swear that new high school was so bad It's been 3 weeks since I got back and I have my physics trimestral exam in a week. I feel really lost and stressed, but your video just gave me hope that I can make it. I'm going to prepare my study plan now that I'm feeling a little better. Thank you so much

I used to struggle sooo soo much in physics and seriously I really really like that idea O imagining that you're in a maze. It really is so important to reach dead ends that way you can avoid that mistake later. One thing that I do while solving a question even in class is that whatever mistake I make, I write it down in front of the question and while practicing for the test I know where I need to focus more on. Digicafe sounds amazing!! I'm learning programming with python and Im sure digicafe is going to be really helpful!! And soo true, its really beneficial to get live help! On many occasions in life, one has to 'tune' their subconscious to reach a certain level of adroitness in a new skill they're trying to learn from scratch even if they think they've already started to learn that particular skill or are learning it from a long time. That allows us with the valuable opportunity to see what loopholes and gaps we had in our understanding of the fundamentals of a skill/subject/course etc. Like Amy narrated; she watched Caltech Physics videos on KZfaq before starting at Caltech! That pushed her subconscious mind to prepare & adapt to Physics related skills from scratch according to the place where she was headed to and gave her a renewed sense of how to view the skill she had to improve herself in (in that case Physics), from an immensely significant & distinct vantage point! We can all apply a similar strategy to 'RElearn' something we think we know already and in the process we emerge much rejuvenated in that field! And OF COURSE, CODING! (learn "as early as possible" like Amy points out!). (By the way, all of Caltech's official channels on KZfaq are simply THE BEST!) Also, if any of you is looking for advice for Physics, I recommend that you start looking Physics from the perspective that concepts in it are mainly Mathematics based. Certain concepts are 'quantified' and then given names; like for example 'mass'. And humans have invented a way to assign standardized units to these concepts. To make physical concepts of universe more comprehensible 'to our brains', we have invented a precise 'tool' called Physics. So think of Physics as a 'tool' that is 'helping your brain' to comprehend the quantified nature of physical systems etc. around you. And Mathematics is a language you're using in Physics. This mindset for Physics will go a long way with you, especially if you ever decide to take up research work in Physics related academic fields. And never ever forget the quote succinctly put by the Caltech Queen: "You need live customized responses to your personal struggles." And keep improving fast; little drops of water make the mighty ocean!

I like those two quotes at the end, I'm going to use them lol

@@Cupcakemagic.755 Peace be upon you. I am really glad you asked your academics related question. More than happy to help! I read your question almost at the same time you posted it, and now replying when I am free so that I can answer comprehensively and carefully. So when it comes to study tasks demanding a lot of memorization, you can divide what you are about to memorize into paragraphs and memorize paragraph wise. Even if you're memorizing paragraphs one by one, make sure that you get the understanding & gist of a particular paragraph in simple words in your mind before memorizing it the way it is; that way the memorization will be much easier. Create a general mental image in your mind of a paragraph's content summary, and then memorize the actual paragraph itself. This way, it'll be easier for you to remember it in the long run. And also create an image of a chain in your mind, that this paragraph will be coming after that paragraph and so on. This technique can allow you to memorize extensive amounts of information. You can repeat aloud again & again to memorize or silently repeat it in mind again & again to memorize. And once you have memorized all the paragraphs after creating a mental image of the content summary of all of them and an image of the chain that connects one paragraph after the another; THEN highly advise you to WRITE down all of it relying on your memory alone (what you just memorized). This will solidify in your brain what you have memorized EVEN MORE, because you have memorized it in your mind and then written it down as well so more stronger neural pathways formed, and thus better memory. Also, always keep on revising what you have memorized with regular days intervals and that itself will not make you forget what you learnt. And when you revise, make sure to write AGAIN relying on your memory alone (what you have memorized). You can also time yourself when writing according to the approximate time limit you'll be writing that according to your exam's time limit for which you are preparing. This way, not only are you memorizing, but memorizing & writing in a way that is allowing you to prepare according to the exam time format. Let me know if this works for you and if you found it to be helpful. Stay blessed and praying for your success in studies & life. Feel free to ask any more questions you have!
@HumanHuman.
@HumanHuman. 8 ай бұрын
@@Cupcakemagic.755 Glad you found my words to be really helpful! Happy to help. The questions you asked now are interrelated. So if you study regularly on a daily basis, that'll help you immensely for being consistent in your studies and you'll be able to complete your syllabus well ahead of time as well. Develop the best strategy to study consistently on a daily basis. You might've read my strategy for studying consistently on a daily basis in my detailed comment on Amy's vlog 'the ASIAN SECRET to LEARNING ANYTHING: Valedictorian reacts'. Read it carefully a couple of times and you can even save it. In it I have mentioned about past papers. I used to study a topic on my own even before it had been taught in class. I studied it on my own according to syllabus requirements and then went straight to past papers of that topic. I did this on a regular basis consistently, even if it was holiday season. And same attitude from day 1 of school session. If I didn't understand anything, I consulted the internet or asked my teacher to give me some time to explain it. And whatever I studied, including past papers, I made sure to revise it too after a couple of days (didn't wait for exams or school tests to arrive to revise. Did mostly in advance) so then the memory was solidified. Regarding managing 8 subjects and when studying isn't enjoyable: the above strategies apply and I made past paper practice enjoyable for myself. The idea that I was studying in advance and well ahead the rest of class gave me the confidence to study topics in advance even more. And I was able to clarify concepts even better for myself when that topic was taught in class. Also, find your 'drive' & 'why' which Amy's latest vlog mentions, that'll help you to continue to study long hours because you'll have a purpose in mind that'll help you to study. For example: imagine yourself at that top university you'll get into as a result of excellent grades & extracurriculars. You can also choose to study a demanding subject like Physics etc. (for many it can be demanding) in a day and with intervals you can study a lighter subject like English for a few minutes and this technique will help you to study for long hours in a day without getting bored since your mind will get a different taste of a lighter subject as well along with a demanding one. Be enthusiastic about a topic when you study it. Create interest deliberately if you can't get interested. Be curious about what you're learning. When you take a break from study, try to avoid screens; go look at the sky and take deep breaths, watch greenery, keep an indoor plant, eat a healthy snack like a fruit or raisins etc. Take a short nap during the day. Just make sure that whatever you do during study break is healthy and isn't tiring your mind, only refreshing it. Healthy diet & good sleep will help you to focus for long hours too. Hope this helps! If you have any further questions regarding your studies, feel free to ask. Stay blessed.

Hi! Physics is also the most challenging class for me; the fact that I have the most difficult physics teacher makes it even worse lol. I'm not in AP Physics, but I am also taking AP Chemistry so that's been pretty difficult to manage... I'm in my junior year rn.
@HumanHuman.
@HumanHuman. 8 ай бұрын
Peace be upon you. I recommend that you try khan academy's online resources for AP Physics. They're pretty good. You can use it for AP Chemistry too. You can also ask your course related queries from a class fellow who is excellent in Physics and is nice enough to give you some time for collective study. And as for managing the two courses you're finding difficult, try to study their chapters on your own even before the teacher begins teaching them in class. It's usually easier to allocate a set amount of time for studying in home for courses you're taking. This way you'll be more confident and you'd be able to ask questions to your teacher for the concepts you didn't understood while studying on your own. Also, you can read my detailed pinned comment on Amy's vlog 'the ASIAN SECRET to LEARNING ANYTHING: Valedictorian reacts'. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. I’m in 6th grade, and I know it’s not good, but I am always stressed out about my grades and always thinking I’m not good enough or smart enough. I’m a,ways thinking about my future, and how I want to go to Harvard, so I study all the time and have alot of pressure on me. I was worried that in high school I wouldn’t enable to even have a life because I would be so focused on trying to be the best. Your videos have helped me EXTREMELY. To know that someone is capable of doing things you did all while having a life and 8 hours of sleep has reassured me more than you’ll ever know. Also, do you have any tips for younger students who strive for the best but still are making 80s? It’s so frustrating!

How do you study textbooks? Do you make summary notes? Because when I do them, it takes me hours, but you say that it's possible to study 2h a day, but how is that possible?

Personally i just find it hard to do things in general. I was born with a heart condition, and because of it my body uses up ALOT more energy than the average person. So much so that i get random Blindspots in my vision because of my fluctuating blood pressure. The heart condition its self is painfull, but i find it harder to coop with just how hard it is to continue with such uncomfortable mobility in life. I just wish it was easier

Hi, I've been feeling down lately, I'm disappointed in my self and everyone is disappointed in me. I lack discipline, self control, confidence and sense. I have no friends ,but I want friends. I have goals about 5 but I'm falling behind. I'm a failure! I keep falling for the same temptation. It's all so overwhelming and stressful and I know I'm not burnt out. I need help, I have someone I talk to but he is so caught up in his self. Back to my goals, the resistance is to strong for me to start any task and I have no one to support me. Pride got into me cause I'm the best at math in my class so I decide not to study and I failed the test, I feel like a mad man, I am unmotivated, I am a failure. Any tips, I feel so sad with no purpose in life, even my goals are starting to fall behind. 😭😭

Physics was the only class this trimester I ended with a B (87%) in 🥲 I’m hoping this next trimester I can get an A in the class, but I still have the same teacher and my schedule is actually harder now because most of the teachers I’m having are known to be very strict. This video definitely came at the right time for me lol.
