I think Lazenby was given way too hard a time for his Bond. At times he was a bit wooden, but not as if Craig isn't incredibly wooden. Lazenby had some great moments in that film.

David. Excellent T review. Hawick is not pronounced as said Ha..Wick. The way to say it is Hoy..ick. And three minutes of screen blank at the end. Strange.

By the premiere and release of OHMSS things like the cardigan and George growing a beard and growing his hair long were becoming quite ‘hippy’ etc I think George knew he would not get to be ‘bond’ anymore with this style 👍 👍 🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴🏴❤️❤️

Another great video, thank you. Lazenby's OHMSS was the peak of '60's grace and style before the rot of counter-culture infested mens haberdashery. The '70's were a frantic time with its accelerant of "fashion" and the new "style" drove riduclous trouser flairs and Tie girths. Bond's sense of satorial sanity didn't recover till the Craig era (Brosnan had his moments). Even though Craigs ultimate betrayal of Bond in NTTD stings, he contributed greatly to getting the cinnematic Bond back on the rails to dressing like a Gentleman rather than a hippie or a knitwear mannequin.

Thanks David for this video. I have an excellent alternative from Uniqlo bought last year which is a dead ringer in colour and style to the OHMSS cardigan. Closer than the one exhibited here. And I also picked up in the last 6 months a tattersall shirt from Country Road almost exactly like the Lazenby original. It's great fun pairing them and I don't think looks too old at all (it's all about attitude). Howwver, I do wish you would review more alternatives rather than just mostly showcasing the several brands attempting to target a few cashed-up Bond fans with their 'homages' that are often not much like the garment they are pretending to replicate (I'm looking at you Orlebar Brown and N.Peal).

Other than the Shawl Collar Cardigan. I think the coolest cardigan in the films was the Dries Van Noten Cardigan that Q wore in Skyfall. I find standard cardigans age men up a bit too much. I do have one like the Lazenby but it has a thin line of blue piping that goes around the collar down along the buttons that youths it up a bit. And I wear that with a t-shirt like you did this one.

It really irritates me when OB or what remains of Anthony Sinclair put out common, easy to find articles of clothing (there are a million tan cardigans out there), and call them Bond tributes, without bothering to get the details right. The waffling is a large part of what made the real sweater special--I mean, the OHMSS original is a sharp looking sweater, and the "homage" is not. I think Brown and Sinclair careen between being too cautious and too lazy.

Interesting what you said about making 40 plus year olds look older on it...I'm not so sure. I thought it looked amazing on you. I think wearing clothes to make us (as I am 46) look younger makes us look older. Long way of me saying the cardigan looked awesome on you.
