How do you sketch moving people?? There's a trick!
When you're drawing people in public, they'll shift between certain positions. If you quickly get their gesture laid in, you can go back and forth between their poses.
For complex drawings, it's helpful to sketch in the things you don't know well. People, you can draw from imagination. But the specific scenery and details you'll want to get from life.
Rembert's book Figured Out is out now! Check it out in the link on the full video 📕

You should try the conscious sketching, IDK how else to phrase it; I've learned of it last year. Instead of focusing on the details right off the bat, view the outer lines of the subject first (and it is okay to not be accurate), then draw lines without the usual sketchy or squiggly sketching. Think of every stroke you'll make before you draw them, then polish the details after. If you find it hard at first, try squinting to make your vision less focused on the details and more on the whole structure. I really hope I can explain it further, but I cannot without visual haha.

@ProkoTV
@ProkoTV 19 күн бұрын
The actual actionable steps from this are to observe common behaviors and modify your drawing practice to work with them. Laying in a quick sketch and knowing that the person will probably return to the same pose for you to get more information from. There's one other tip we really liked from the longer video: Use the real life situation to draw the things you don't know. Objects in the scenery that aren't in your normal environment and so on. Put that in as a very quick and light sketch that you can detail later. And then know that you fill it all with people later, if you want that. You can probably fudge drawing people. But the particulars of the inside of a railcar? GREAT detail to sketch in quickly.

@ProkoTV
@ProkoTV Ай бұрын
Certainly! Without knowing the context of what you're doing, someone might be worried about what you're doing based on their life experience. Some of them might choose to ask you not to. Some artists choose to show the finished drawing to the people they drew, whether they knew it was happening or not. It just comes down to your personal preference and comfort. But if they ask you not to, respect that. Even if it was coming out REALLY good lol

@ProkoTV
@ProkoTV Ай бұрын
Start by only drawing solo people who are facing away. If you break down the things that make you anxious, it's probably about the person you're drawing realizing it OR that someone else will come up and want to see what you're drawing. You can't control the second one as much so focus on the first and just draw people who CAN'T realize it. That'll help you conquer that one part first.
