This is right in line with the "over-the-top" stuff I plan to do to our Yardistry gazebo! You did a great job, but I have to point out that you put yourself at great risk having those wire connections exposed inside the leg of the gazebo. Ignoring the fact that it's a major code violation to NOT have a box in there (ALL electrical wire connections MUST be done inside a junction or outlet box), if anything were to go wrong with those wires, you've got them hanging out with exposed wood (instead of wrapped safely in plastic!). One short/spark and it's asta la vista, baby! MY plan is to use the hollow legs the same way, installing outlets and switches where needed... but the whole thing will have a single extension cord connection in one corner. That way I can move the gazebo around and plug the whole thing in wherever I put it. Using LED lights and one ceiling fan should be low enough draw to work with a single extension cord supply. :) Thanks for showing me that MY ideas aren't crazy! :)

You are absolutely correct about the exposed outlet, but then seriously contradict yourself by doing a major code violation and using extension cords to power your gazebo. cheers.
