This Video is a follow up to our original video that shows how to add an external Audio Jack to a NuTone Intercom Master Station
In this Video I show how you can use the RCA Jack on early NuTone Intercom Models like the 2090, 2091, 2540, 2541 and others that have a pre-installed RCA jack that is accessible through a pre-made howl in the face plate.
I show which types of standard audio cables you will need to use the built-in RCA jack and how to connect them together and connect them to the NuTone Intercom Master Station.
I then show how you can relocate the RCA Jack inside your early NuTone Master Station to its alternate location, which allows you to connect a pre-made Internal Audio Jack with all of the cables concealed inside the Master Station

Hi Error Unknown: The comment was directed to owners of NuTone Intercom Systems which could of had an optional Record Player connect to it. To a very large extent - these NuTone Built-in Record Players are no longer used and adding the External Jack allows the owners of these Systems to use the input for a modern device. Just so you know, I play records on my Pioneer PL30 Turntable, which is connected to a variety of Marantz Amplifiers from the late 1960's and early 1970's - Chris

Excellent video. Is there a way to replace the AM option with an AUX stereo option? I'm assuming the phono input only allows for mono output.

Hi Bicloptic: I don't understand your question. Unless you have one of the few Stereo Radio Intercom that NuTone made, your system is a Mono System with out the ability of using a stereo signal. What is the Model number of your system? - Chris

Okay, thank you. I mistakenly thought that the AM/FM outputted stereo audio. Now that I think about it, it wouldn't make any sense to output to stereo anyways. Thanks.

We have a nutone intercom/ radio/cassette from 1989- early 90’s maybe 4006? It plays, but has an annoying hum. What can be done to get this fixed? We are not very handy.

There is a hole at the bottom of my unit, but no jack of any kind. Can one be added? Just bought a house , and I love these intercoms. I want to make it usable for my family

@@DevinAK49 The Auxiliary Input Jack on a NuTone IMA203 is not accessed through the hole on the bottom of the Faceplate. It is located on the inside of the IMA203. Pull the Pin from the top of the faceplate (in the center) Tip the IMA203 down - Looking at the back of the Master Station - the RCA Input Jack is located on the Right-Hand side of the Chassis (in the center) just above the back of the radio tuning knob assembly - the RCA Jack is mounted to a rectangular Black piece of fiber-board - Chris

Does the Y-Adapter have built-in resistors? At least 20 ohms per channel, otherwise this might damage the source device in long-term.

Hi QuadMochaMattI: While I am aware that there is renewed interest in vinyl records, I really don't think that people who are listening to records are connecting their turntables tables to their Intercom Systems. The desire to play your own music through your Intercom System has been a constant for the past 50+ years, however for the majority of users, convenience out weights all else. Playing music from your phone or a WIFI streaming device is simply easier - Chris

Chris, this is a great video. Thank you for posting. I am mounting my Echo Dot on the wall above my master station with cables concealed in the wall. I just need the two cable adapters to connect from phono port to Aux jack on my Dot. Will these two cable work for that purpose? 1.
