I am not an electrician. I am sure I did a few things wrong in this video. Make sure you get professional help. It might not show it in the video, but the whole system is hooked to a GFI plug.

Running NM cable through conduit, especially underground is against code. Any wires outside like this should be THWN rated (either stranded or solid) and all 3 conductors should be separate, and jacketed. I'd also recommend having the outlets much higher off the ground. The separate conductors make it pretty easy to fish through the conduit after it's all glued up and dry. You can use a shopvac to suck some nylon string through the conduit, tie the wire to the string and pull it through with a helper feeding on the other end.

Actually according to the NEC Art. 334 says nothing about running NM in conduit. The only worry here is conduit fill. which in this case is legal if you do the calculation. Its legal. Just a no no for most electricians. Plus its damn near impossible to pull NM through conduit unless you feed it in sections like this video.

He is right, no NM in conduit, because of the uninsulated ground wire, it needs to be insulated, also he didn't use any kind of support/securing and always build your conduit then pull your wires , it's all in the code book!

I noticed is that he ran the wire/cable through the conduit as he built it which is also a no no. The PVC cement partially melts the pvc and in essence, welds the conduit together but it can also attack the insulation of the cable/wire so therefore, it should be built, allowed to dry, then pulled through afterwards. I ran a length of paracord through my conduit as I built it and easily tied to the wire once ready to pull through. No trying to be critical....just want to give pointers to others for future reference.

NM cable may be run through conduit so long as the sheathing isn't removed. However, you are using indoor wire THHN (based on yellow jacket) when outdoor requires the use of THWN or XHHW which are water resistant. Not to mention, I didn't see a GFCI outlet used so I hope your using a GFCI breaker in the panel. And uninsulated ground wire is not permitted under 680.21(A)(1) but also referred to in other sections of the NEC

I did all my wiring in the same conduit with bare wires, works fine

How about some RTV sealant on the threads of the box plugs.. All purpose glue is not the appropriate solvent for this application. Use the grey PVC solvent. We won't mention the NMC in the conduit(at least strip the jacket of the Romex(trademark).

I appreciate this post. I'm taking bits and pieces from serval sources as well as comment sections. I don't know if I want to try to put a power supply half way across my yard or figure out how to put a longer cord on my pool pump. I have a Bestway sand filter and the cord is like 2 feet too short, if that.

Yes, I now know that I’ve gotten a couple of comments about it. Thank you for your comment. It helps for people to do the right thing instead of doing it the way I did.
