It's pretty obvious why. Led strips are made from one huge roll and then cut in either 5m or less common 10m and it would require alot of precise manual labor instead

Thank you for creating this bit where you will have to cut the plastic top piece to slide in the copper. That saved me from tearing my hair out. Side Tip: I used duct tape to hold the opposite ends of the wall strip while I patted the sticky side down to make it stay on its own down the wall. I was doing this solo without anyone to help hold down the other ends 😅

There are also some clips that have sharp pins that go through the copper and the rubber on top. They make a perfect connection and you don't need to prepare the LED strip.

Not advised with rgbic strips. It could work but the longevity and communication between chips can become compromised.

These 12v non addressable RGBs degrade color over long run. Not sure if there are voltage boosters for these. Otherwise if you don’t care about color degradation (its slight but noticeable) these are great if you like for it to be solder free

If you make the tape longer you may need to also get a better power supply. Power supplies can only push the power so far. Check the stats of your power supply if you do this.

Do you still need to plug in the new strip or does it run off the power of the original leds

Once you connect the light strips, they will run off the same power. No need for another power supply.

Some LED strips have a maximum lengh so make sure you have a decent power supply

As I was saying that if you can make a video where you cut a strip light into two pieces. One piece is like 10 cm, and other is like 15 or 20 cm. Now, all you need to do is to control both pieces with 1 remote/controller. Pls send me the video link as soon as you make the video! Thanks☺

They sell them on Amazon and most bigger online marketplaces. Just make sure the ones you order have the same number of pins as your led strips pads. Just search led strip connecter x pins. Replace x with the number of pads your led strips have.

do not forget that there is a maximum length you can use with DC current, at 12V stip it is at near 14 meters.

@@TheSoldercreeper that is not true all LED's at LED stripes are wired parallel, this is why you reach at about 14 meters the point where it is getting dangerous because the wirering can not handle over more than this distance the current and will burn.

Don’t forget to make sure your power source can hold that many lights. Voltage doesn’t change, but add watts

Keep in mind that the power adapter wont be able to support such long strips. The light will fade out towards the end.

what happens if you buy too long of a strip and you only want to use some of it is it ok to cut a piece off will the lights still work or I would have to buy a shorter length

As long as the led lights are like the ones featured in this video ( amzn.to/3sbBsY3 ) , you can cut them any length, per instructions in this video.
