The problem of trying to add inhibitor when the radiators do not have a screw cap or valve on the end of the radiator. So how do you put it in ?
I will show you my way.
The link to buy an Ezyfill is www.dereton33.com/page197.html
I also now have an Amazon storefront for all plumbing parts. It is www.amazon.co.uk/shop/dereton33

Excellent video! Glad I found this.. I've got a Sealed CHS System powered by a Combi Boiler. However, I've also got these old school style single (and double panel) radiators that only have Bleed Valve Pins on the top right corner. No plug on the left top corner! Your video has been a Godsend - as I'm not going to purchase a Sentinel Dosing Vesel (about £50) which I'll use to connect to the filling loop of the central heating system (after I've drained all the water out of course). I intend on doing a Chemical Flush with Sentinel X400 (leave in for 3-4 weeks), then remove and then dose with X100 Inhibitor with the same method before repressurising! :)

Hi dereton33, I really love your videos, I find them extremely useful! I have removed all my radiators and cleaned them all to remove all the sludge inside, shall I just now add the inhibitor and filling out the system? Or shall I use cleaner, then drain them all and then inhibitor? My system is a combi boiler with one side panel convector radiators in all rooms. Thanks. Great stuff!
@dereton33
@dereton33 5 жыл бұрын
If the radiators did not seem that bad when you cleaned them, I would just add the inhibitor.
@danith72
@danith72 5 жыл бұрын
@@dereton33 Yes, they did actually, to be honest. Do you think is a good idea if I drain them all, then add the cleaner and refill everything, switch on the whole system (so everything is moving), then drain it again, then add the inhibitor and refill?

Al if I want to add inhibitors to my system do I have to already know what's in the system, or am I best just to drain it fully the refil
@dereton33

If you are not sure then it is best to drain it all and start a fresh.

It's easier to buy the fernox concentrated stuff that comes in a tube, you just inject it straight into the filling loop with a mastic gun.
@dereton33
@dereton33 6 жыл бұрын
Yes it is easier but you do have to have a mastic gun. I will do a video on that method .

Hi, How long you have to leave system cleaner in, before drain it out? Thanks.
@dereton33

It usually says how long on the bottle, but it can be any time depending on the make up to 24 hours or sometimes a week.

Hi Dereton33 I have some issues with my Combi boiler as the water gauge always seems to be low and once filled up to correct level it gets low again after couple of weeks. I have checked all radiators and can't find any leaks. Where I used to live the combi boiler there I hardly ever need to add more water to it, maybe once a year if that. This one I have to always have to check the gauge worrying about the water level. What is wrong? Your advice would be appreciated. Thanks Ken

You have a leak some where. Try some system leak fixer in your system. Fernox do it.

I had a prob like that and it was 2 pipes rubbing against each other which created a hole in 1 of the pipes. Normally happens where you get obe of them central heating gitted in a day jobs.

Trying to add sentinel leak sealer via the top up loop. Very, very small loss of pressure, and its driving me mad. Have drained down the system, but the leak sealer won't go through the pipe. Put in a small amount, and it just sits there (my top up pipe is vertical). I can reconnect the mains and force it through, but doing this is going to take forever. Any suggestions?

Try it through a rad, with a funnel an hose . Drain the rad first.

thanks for the prompt reply, but Im going to get the aerosol one that can be connected to the fill loop, no need to drain the system, and is done in 30 seconds.Enjoy your channel, very informative. Any knowledge of damp?Fed up with these damp proof companies who only cover it up.

My radiator's are at least 40 plus year's old with the bleed nipples sunken into a round crevice with a sqare head on them is there any easy way to add fresh inhibitor rather than using a syringe it takes ages

Drain some water out of the drain valve Then use the filling loop attached to the return pipe and fit a funnel into the flexi and fill using that.

If you have a bathroom towel radiator it is easier to fill after removing top bleed plug.

Only way i could think was fill the inlet hose, screw it back on, turn on inlet tap, turn off tap, disconnect hose then repeat until inhibitor bottle empty, took ages and many times, tried the injector bottle and it just flew all over the wall as the pressure blew off the hose from the clip
