brilliant, I skimmed through the video to the parts that interested me most. Now I know how to pipe a bag. PS: the idea to cut the fabric in the bias was new to me, great tip!

How did you trim the seam allowance down to 3/8? When you put a ruler on top it tends to roll around since it’s not flat. Is there an easy way to deal with that?
@CountryCowDesigns
@CountryCowDesigns Жыл бұрын
Unless you can find a 3/8 guide you just need to be careful when measuring it. I just try to not move the ruler around and take my time

@@CountryCowDesigns i really liked the neat little square to join the 2 ends ...usually struggle with folding angled ends that make a messy lump! Very cool...Lindy

Thanks. It’s just a standard rotary cutter from Amazon

My aunt use to do cushion covers and to hide the cording ends...she cut the white cord away about 1/2" or less, leaving the fabric to lap over the cording end and fabric on the right. So both ends were butted and hidden in the fabric on the left.

You just trimed the flange down to 3/8 ,right? Not including the cotton piping. How do you not see the piping stitches? It seems like they may travel outside the seam allowance,or do you just stitch a little outside of your construction stitch? Sorry for all the questions
@CountryCowDesigns
@CountryCowDesigns Жыл бұрын
Thats right, you trim the flange down. Don’t include the piping. Just like in a normal seam if you pull it open you may see a bit of the stitching but generally it’s not an issue. But if you have concerns about it you can sew the piping a little under 3/8.
