I don't understand why I have to purchase the PDF pattern in order to buy the acrylic template. Can someone tell me why?
@CountryCowDesigns
@CountryCowDesigns 5 күн бұрын
The price for the PDF pattern goes to us as the designers. We don’t receive anything for the acrylic templates. When you purchase the acrylic templates you are paying for the materials and manufacturing of the templates, and not the original design.

thanks for this amazingly informative video - I do lots of 3D printing and have been making jewellery, keyrings etc. Recently I've been experimenting with how to incorporate it into bags and was struggling with the rivets - your video is so helpful, factual and easy to follow. Brilliant!

Hi. Thank you for such a watchable tutorial video. I have just received some of your beautiful water resistant canvas fabric, and would like to make this pattern in it. Would you use it as it is, or would you interface it please? Many thanks. Lesley.
@CountryCowDesigns
@CountryCowDesigns 8 күн бұрын
For the exterior fabric I would use a light interfacing. But you could use it without though if you wanted an easier sew. I wouldn’t interface it if I was using for the lining.

Great pattern and tutorial. We use it as a shopping bag and believe it would have been more practical if it was wider and a bit lower. For a short person it is a bit too high. I will make a new one with other measurement, but the same closure.

Approximately what size cut would be appropriate for this build? Is a single shoulder sufficient?

Ive been doing leatherwork in various forms for about 20yrs. From tooling to modeling to bag making and i have to say that this is one of the best designs I've seen for a no sew, riveted handbag. As simple as it is, its well thought and doesn't look like the assembly with rivets is an afterthought. The rivets are design elements and part of its character. And, the Brogue patternleading to the rivets is inspired. Very well done👏 Imma go check your other stuff out now😁

I love your hardware - definitely the best quality you could find, and so looking forward to the silver (as I prob use that the most). Wish I lived closer so I could come in. Maybe open another shop in Wiltshire just for me?!? Very best of luck to you all. Mandy.

Congratulations to you both. I love the shop. That paint color is my favorite. I wish I could come and browse but I am in the US. That little gift bag tote is a great idea. Question. Do you ship to the US? Those bag kits look intriguing. I do love the lives you did but I understand the stress that comes along. Maybe pre recorded as premieres? That way you can still interact and chatters can ask questions, as needed in a sew-along. Anyway, been a fan from day one. Wishing you all the best. 👍👍👍

Kai scissors make good fabric scissors look shitty in comparison. They are amazing. They cut through anything material/leather with such ease. They are a little costly but worth every penny. Please get yourself some if your looking for scissors. Love your shop and your patterns. Thanks and congrats.

The domestic machines recommended in the video are not on par with the semi-industrial machines from Juki, Brother or Janome (they can be purchased on Amazon US, some for less than a half price if compared to Germany). You can use them to make bags and everything else, but they have significant limitations. The only inexpensive machine that makes sense for bag making is the Singer 201. Spare parts are not a problem, this machine doesn't break, except maybe the motor. The Singer 201 does a great job, but it is by no means better than a modern semi-industrial sewing machine. Because it is completely mechanical, made of metal and masterfully crafted, it will last longer than any modern sewing machine - that is the only difference.

hey is this machine can use for jute bags?
@CountryCowDesigns

It will be fine for the material. Jute bags tend to have exterior seams on the sides which can be tricky sometimes on a flatbed machine though

Exciting! For scissors, try if you can KAI brand--amazing quality you & customers will live to use! (Though Olfa still better for rotary blades--years of leather work & garment sewing). I like your hardware display/drawers. Be sure to fix the pieces well since folks will pull on the item like it's a drawer pull & pops off! (Have seen this in some shops & even guilty myself of thinking a display was functional 😂). Ohhh, a Juki? I have a big industrial, but last fall added a Juki TL18QVP for lighter work (and garments, though still have 5 others... But Juki is great. And great to have the hand presses! Hint: color code the dies by size! I used tape)sharpies, and makes it so easy to get which I need (also color coding my rivet bins helps with matching them up to the die!)
