I always wondered how to place the ribbon on a Christmas tree. There is a small tree in my bedroom that I keep up all year in honor of my daughter that passed 11 years ago. She loved Christmas! Word of advice with for all of you watching this…..USE PIPE CLEANERS OR ZIPTIES ALWAYS with your ribbon! Keep them attached to your ribbon when you dismantle your tree and you’ll be ready to go for next year! Trust me when i tell you to attach your ribbon or you’ll be messing with it the entire holiday season

Sometimes someone will show you something that is brilliant in its simplicity. I have been decorating trees for almost 50 years and I never thought of decorating the top first. Makes the best sense. Your methods are easy and the end result is beautiful. Thank you for sharing. Hope you and husband have a beautiful holiday season.

Love it! The only thing I hate about wrapping the ornaments into the tree, is having to take them out LOL. I want to grab that junk off the tree and get it put away. And I love pics!

Lots of great tips and gorgeous colours - your tree is going to be so pretty. I always use floral wire or paddle wire to wire my ornaments to my tree (an old Martha Stewart trick) but the best part is that you can wire an ornament to the top of a branch to fill a space when you run out of picks and nobody will ever know it is upside down unless you tell them.

Great video! I wish I had watched it before I started decorating my tree. I will use these fabulous techniques next year.

I’ve always wanted a “decorator tree” and I pester my husband every year for one. Well…he is all about the nostalgia value of a Christmas tree with all our old ornaments, ornaments passed down from deceased family members, etc. and refuses to consider a change. And you know what? Every year after the tree is up and decorated, I am so happy he keeps insisting. So many memories are hanging on our tree. Guess I will have to admire others’ beautiful trees (like yours) and be content with our sweet memory tree!

Your tree is beautiful. Really love the way you did your star and picks at the top. Also, your use of the signs on the tree was really unique and keeps the reason for the season front and center! 👍👍

I have this same tree and I love it! I always love to see how others put ribbon and bulbs on and yours is spot on. I start mine up under my topper however with 2 loops (like a bow with ribbon tales pointing upwards and then billows, ribbon tale and start over. I use 3 different ribbons. Two together for my main and a different for an accent. Lots of picks and sprays and bulb clusters and ending with 3 different specialty bulbs. I do 5 trees so I've already started decorating. My main tree is done. I started one of my foyer trees this morning, took a break and set up the Christmas village. I will be decorating for the next 2 weeks at least.

Beautiful! I put my tree up today, but it has a completely different look. We have a kitten, just over a year old, who destroyed the tree last year when he was tiny and ever so cute! My thought this year was to hope he would be over it, but knowing his personality, I opted to try to cat-proof it instead. We got a new, inexpensive pre-lit tree so he couldn't pull the lights off. I got a battery lit, variegated holly garland with red berries and wrapped it around the trunk where he couldn't dislodge it. I added red and gold bows to the boughs, tied on with pipe cleaners. I made a few pipe cleaner curls, bows and stars to fill in a bit, all twisted onto the branches. We finished with a small topper, wired on, and tied the whole thing to a ceiling hook with invisible fishing line. It's not fancy, but it looks festive. The kitten, now MUCH larger than last year, has already been up and down twice, but most things have stayed on! It will be my daily meditation to fix the tree each morning :) He's (mostly) worth it ❤

Absolutely beautiful! I switched to a 7.5’ flocked pre-lit skinny tree last year and I’m using it again this year. I put it up today and added the pastel bead garland that I made last year. Tomorrow I’ll do ornaments. I’m still unsure if I’m going to add ribbons. I bought beautiful pastel, velvet, wide ribbon that’s wired. On 2/1/21, we moved away from our family because of my husband’s job. It’s just not the same without my children. Honestly, I don’t know why I even waste my time doing the tree, only the 2 of us will see it. I miss my girls and having no F&F here, it makes the holidays hard. Frozen pizza for Thanksgiving anyone? 🫤
