This video was a life saver - thank you!! There’s only me & 1 other woman in my department & asking the guys from other departments to help with anything is such a headache! Now I can just adjust the shelves on all the carts in my department on my own - yay!! 🎉

What's the maximum height that the bottom shelf can safely be set at? Say for a 74" height unit. One manual states "NSF requires that the lowest shelf be at least 6" (152 mm) above the floor." Ok, but, then what's the most height you should have if you want it higher? 10"? 15"? 19"?

This truly depends on how the shelving unit will be used and we recommend using your best judgment for safety. Questions you may want to ask include: Will there be a lot of weight or lateral motion on it? Are there small children or pets who might be playing around it? Will it be positioned in a place where it might be bumped? Generally speaking, we recommend 14” above the floor - after that, Hanger Rails should be used for additional support.

What's the best way to transport disassembled units? Any easy moving hints? (From one home to another)

Hi, we're a bit late to the party, but we recommend putting the shelf clips and leveling feet in a small bag to keep them contained, and then banding the posts together so that they don't roll around. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

They can adjust on just the 5-inch notches? Or can they adjust on the 1-inch notches also? because your video makes it seem like they can only adjust to the 5-inch notches.

If you are placing the lowest shelf relatively high, we recommend using Hanger Rails for added support towards the bottom of the unit. 3 or 4 hanger rails can be used along the depth and width of the bottom. Installing triangle footplates and/or post wall brackets can also help to stabilize a unit without a bottom shelf.

Hi, thanks for reaching out. The shelf clips will NOT close completely - they should have a space between the two halves to allow for compression when the shelf is placed atop them. Also, be sure that the clips are resting IN one of the grooves on the post (slide the clip up and down the post until you feel it snap into place on the groove). If they are not, they will slide off when the shelf is set on them. Let us know if you need more help!

Can the bottom shelf be adjusted to halfway up the poles?

While all shelves are fully adjustable and can be placed on any 1” notch along the posts, we do recommend keeping one shelf near the bottom and one shelf near the top for stability. If you choose not to have a bottom shelf, we recommend that you support the posts with 3 or 4 hanger rails along the depth and width of the bottom. Installing triangle footplates and/or post wall brackets can also help to stabilize a unit without a bottom shelf.

Does the top shelf have to sit at the top of the poles or can it move down?

It can be down, and the poles can also be cut with a pipe cutter to clear obstructions.

You can set the top shelf wherever you would like on the 1" post notches.

We do carry Post-to-Wall Brackets on our website (www.shelving.com/Wall-Mounting-Bracket-for-Round-Chrome-Post-p/si-apwbc.htm) which secures your wire shelving to the wall. However, if yours has wheels, this would not work.

No, our individual wire shelving posts do not connect to create a taller unit.

have you tried using a rubber hammer/mallet they sell them on amazon gently hit the shelve upwards and should come loose, and then you can adjust the clips height that are on the poles 😅

Sometimes the rubber mallet doesn't do it. Try a regular metal hammer right at the pole. A good quick few taps or hits should do it. The shock from the metal hammer helps break it free. Be careful not to break the weld by hitting too hard.

We apologize for the delay in response. You could try a lubricant like grease or WD-40, letting it sit for 30+ minutes before tapping with a rubber mallet evenly around the shelf collars. You can also try applying heat onto the shelf collars. If a rubber mallet doesn't work, you can use a hammer or other durable striking instrument, as long as you place a towel or cloth at the striking point. This will prevent you from causing any damage to the supporting truss underneath the shelf.
