The fact that adoption is so expensive and takes so much time, effort, and paper work makes me so confused as to why my parents who adopted me were so abusive

I grew up bulimic from the age 7+, and I sadly can not have children for myself because of the toll it had on my body. But since I have always loved children and wanted to raise children, so adopting seems so perfect. I’ve had a rough childhood and I want to give my future children a much better life❤

The only choice of having kids is to adopt as I am a homosexual male. I've known I've wanted to adopt for a while now but I still need to finish college, get a stable job, and overall have a consistent life. There are enough stereotypes about single males adopting and with me being gay I just hope it doesn't cause any more problems. The only reason I actually want to adopt is to make a child's life the best it can possibly become. I could go on and talk more about it but I don't want to write another essay. I guess adopting a waiting child through foster is the way to go, thank you for this video.

You were saying you hadn’t heard of open international adoptions, but I just wanted to chime in and say that it definitely can and does happen. I know one family that adopted a baby boy with Down syndrome from Ukraine who has stayed in contact with his birth mother over the years, and has especially had increased contact throughout the war in Ukraine as the adoptive family tries to be there for the birth mom emotionally as well as financially through this dark time.

Thanks again for the great, informative content! My husband and I are actually looking into embryo adoption and I'm surprised no one talks about it more (I knew nothing about it either until we got in touch with a couple different programs). It's generally faster and less expensive than domestic infant adoption (from what I've read, most programs can get you into their clinic within 6 months and cost between ($10,000-20,000 dollars). The program we are leaning towards costs $15,000 but has a 95% success rate and will fully refund you if you don't get pregnant within 3 attempts. We're also still in the process of becoming licensed to foster/adopt :)

I just had our first baby 4 months ago and we would absolutely love to adopt to complete our family. I know it’s a process, so I’ve been spitballing the idea. It’s seems silly all the hoops you jump through to adopt a child, but the hospital will let you walk out with a newborn with no prior knowledge.

My Dad’s best friend adopted a girl through foster care. She had been severely beaten by her mom’s boyfriend. She had problems developmentally. The pediatrician in town told my dad’s best friend and his wife that the girl would not be worth adopting. They continued with the adoption. Yes the girl was delayed. My dad’s best friend and twin sister were adopted. The twin sister had cerebral palsy. Their parents would not split those two up and he wasn’t going to turn away anyone with a disability. She is an adult now and has kids of her own. They are having to raise the grandkids. I don’t know the backstory on the father so much other than he had developmental problems as well.

Hello, I'm 36 years old and I've lived in Alabama all my life. But I did see this video and I am interested in learning more about foster care for a newborn baby or up to 2 years old. Although the goal in mind is to provide a loving and safe home for a child however long they are with us, but if we and the child are a good fit and its not possible for that child to retirn back to theor borth parents, I want to know the process in how to adopt that child and will the govement still provide medical care for that child as well as a monthly billing to provide for all of the childs needs and care. Or if they immediately cut you and the child off from that source of means that helps provide even more so for that child? And I want to know more aboit the entire process of fostering to hopefully adopt in the future if your blessed enough to provide a jome for a baby that needs one that cannot go back to birth parents even thoigh that should be the main goal. It does sound more affordable and might have luck down the line of adoptong a child of the desired age you are wanting. I had no idea that other ways of adopting a child could cpst 20,000 or 40,000. So yes, foster and possibly adopt if given that chance sounds better too me of possible. I'm not ready to fill out a form or anything because I have to take this one step at a time with my husband. And discuss when is the best time to start the process. And I wonder how long it usually takes from starting the process and actually adopting a baby boy or baby girl in Alabama. Or how long it takes to just becole foster parents who may adopt later down the road. I just want to learn about the entire process, the requirements, the cost and how long it can take sometimes to find a newborn baby boy or newborn baby girl or 4-7 months old. And if you adopt or foster twins, is it alright if they share 1 decent size bedroom together? I don't know what the requirements need to be if my husband and I were to both decide to adopt a baby boy or baby girl. Or twin babys. Or foster them. But we can provide a safe, clean and loving home for a child with a bedroom all to themselves. And room to sleep, play and study for school when they are older. And a nice big yard to play outside. And provide according to their needs to the best of our ability. Plus my husband has a very large family and siblings lots of cousins and 2nd cousins he is close to that are kids and I have young nephew and nieces. So any child we are blessed with will be happily received and loved by this big family who supports one another and is there for each other. And they will have young cousins to grow up with. Do mosy start out as foster parents and sometimes decide to adopt the one they have fostered? How much does it cost to adopt those fostered in Alabama? And what are the requirements of being a foster parent? Is the cost the same no matter how young or old the child is? If we were to adopt a baby, and I decide to either only work part time or be a stay at home mom for a couple of years since my husband works full time, is that an issue that an adoption agency will have any problems with? Im sure they do a criminal record, and my husband and I have a clean record and have not been in trouble with the law. We also do not allow drugs or alcohol in our home. We are highly against it. Neither of us has any children. And I'm in my 30s. And we have been married for 17 years. And we are in good health. I imagine that it's hard to find adoption for a newborn baby boy and newborn baby girl, so is it best to fill out a form as soon as possible and get on a waiting list for adoption or fostering? And how many months will go by before a social worker would come out to your home to see your home and the provided room you have for a child? What are some questions we can be expected to ask and what all does a social worker look for in both the house and the potential adoptive parents? Do they require you to make a certain yearly income? There are almost 1 million unborn babies killed in the US every year. There are more than enough adoptive families that could save the lives of those sweet souls. Keep pushing for change.

What I learned in this video is that the government & adoptive agencies own the kids & they just do whatever rules. I say this cuz it seems that all the process is just toooo long & EXPENSIVE.😳 When people get pregnant they have their kids in any situation & they adapt their lives to their new member of the family. The only think that those entities should know is the fact that the couples are not criminals, they have jobs & a house or apt. Thank you for the video I learned something else.

Like the American adoption system is any better than any other country. The same problems if you have looked behind the curtain of the American system. Just more greed in the American system, and more money for the human traffickers. No difference at all. The only way adoption should work is flat fee with no astronomical prices and make sure the families are stable. That doesn't cost that much. A camera to do the home recording is like 100 bucks. A person to review it for approval only 200-300$ worth of man hours. Thats for America and thats cheap.

That's sad. So many children need love and have a price for their souls. So many are trap in these places that don't really help the children. People are not property to be sold like property.

The other thing is if a mother and father want to willingly give their child to a family member it should be free and no say on the governments part.

To me that is actually buying a baby. We pay taxes, so this should be covered by government, as we are keeping these kids away from foster care, even if they come direct from a birth parent. I adopted 2 girls, in my country, after giving birth to 3 boys. The ONLY fee I had to pay, was for their new birth certificates, and that was about $1 US dollar. So to me, when I hear about these fees, it feels like buying a baby. And I am afraid now for one of my sons, as we move away from our country, and now he wants to adopt… but these fees make it almost unattainable to him…

If the government actually cares then adoption would be subsidized.
