Thanks for the video! I just booked an appointment with the French consulate in Atlanta (USA). You will need the application number, that starts with FRA, to book the application. So, first complete the application, obtain the application number and then proceed with the visa appointment.

Hi! I'm from Czech Republic and I invited my friend from Egypt to visit me in Prague. He already had the appointment and we had all the documents including invitation letter. We planned to visit some other countries like Italy once he gets here. But during the interview he was a bit nervous and mixed up the dates of the trips we planned. Correction: You CANNOT book an appointment prior to your application. Reason being the appointment process will require a registration number corresponding to your application.

The video is misleading! A Visa Registration Number is a mandatory field to book a visa appointment on VFS global and you can only get the registration number by completing your Schengen visa application form. So in short, you CANNOT book a Schengen visa appointment without filling out an application first!!
