If your spouse has a residence permit in Finland on a Finnish residence permit, or is applying for one, you and your child can also get a residence permit to live and work in Finland on the basis of family ties.

Yes you can apply Residence permit from different country but at the time of identification and interview, it is better to be at the same country and same date and same embassy with the main applicant.

You need to have sufficient funds in ur bank and then presentbthe documents related to the funds like bank statement, salary slips, business related docs, basically any docs clarifying the source of the funds you have!

You will need to attest it the nearest Finnish embassy to you then, and that will probably India. You may attest it at the same time when you visit it for identification.

Hi, yes your spouse will also get an A permit. Hopefully she can be exempted from tuition fees, too but it's good to ask the TE services for correct information.

The first permit should be applied from the home country as a rule of migri except for some special reasons. So even if you come as a tourist you may need to go back. But you can always ask migri about this.

Hi, the sponsor in Finland needs to submit documents related to funds, eg bank statements, salary slips and job contract paper. You can only invite your parents on a Schengen visa for 3 months.

Hi, you need 1000 euros for you, 700 e for your spouse and 500 euros for your child, so altogether, 2200 euros net salary. You may also use your funds or savings in addition to your salary.

Hi, you can take online exam from anywhere. For the residence permit, you need to have a valid visa/permit in the country of residence while applying for the Finnish residence permit, if you are applying from countries other than your home country.

We have few more questions please: 1. Bank statement: for how many months do we have to show 2. Pay slips: for how many months should we show 3. Living Expenses: should be shown separately for the student and the dependent or in a joint account held by both or in student account only 4. Interview: is interview only for the student. Is there any interview for the dependent? Do they call for interview together if we apply together? 5. Immigration: if we go for September 2022 intake, how many months earlier do we have to apply for the Residence permit? 6. Time: how long does it take to get the residence permit? What is the processing time?

1. Bank statements and payslips usually of 6 months, sometimes they can ask for a year, but they will ask if needed, so 6 months. 3. Living expenses can be shown in either joint or separate accounts, doesn't matter, 4. Interviews are held for both student and spouse, in Nepal interviews are always held, abroad (EU or other developed countries, interviews aren't held even though the applicants are from Nepal. In India, I have no idea about the interview, pls ask the embassy yourself, identification is a must everywhere. 5/6. Apply as soon as you get an admission letter from your university and your documents are ready, the processing time for students is 1-3 months, for spouse permit (if not done with the student is 6-9 months). I am planning to come live with QnA related to studying in Finland. I recommend joining if you still have questions.

Hi Mam.. Quick question..Let's say I have got a job in Finland with salary around 3000/month for example. And if I apply a work permit for me and my spouse together then do i need to show (1000 + 700 * 12 months = 20400 eur) in advance before I apply work permit? Hi Liza, your university will tell you if you need to pay in full or partial for each academic year for your tuition fees. Some may require a full year payment and some may be okay with fees for a semester. But the main thing is even if you pay for one semester, when you apply for a residence permit, it is recommended that you have the remaining amount of fees in you bank as a back up because you will be applying for a residence permit for one year. The immigration will check if you have the required fund (6720 euros for living cost plus fund for tuition fees) in your bank account before they grant you a residence permit.

Hi, your spouse should fill in a separaye application for himself/herself. But you can fill the form on behalf of your child. You can find the forms in EnterFinland.

Hi, yes your spouse and child can fill in the rp application based on family ties at the same time when you apply for rp on studies. That way all of you get the decision together.

Visa for Finland is just a permission to enter the country, mostly as a tourist or on business, and not a permission to stay longer than 90 days, which requires Residence Permit.

@@PaarthsPopUpStudio Visa just for visitors, is a simple rule to remember. Everything else is mostly just wrong or misunderstanding. It is not perfectly right always, but unfortunately legislation and administrations aren't very systematic in their practices. Using wrong misleading terminology makes room for miserable misunderstandings. Human communication and used terminology is full of false and stupid confusing usages of terms. I think this is because people give in so easily to lazy thinking and don't actually care what problems they create to others.

Hi Argina, I don't think that will be an issue because life events happen and that's normal. When your spouse apply for a residence permit, the marriage documents must be attested. If he gets a residence permit, he can work full time without any time restrictions.

Hi Asmi, for a family of three your family's monthly income should be 1000e + 700e + 500 e = 2200 euros if your husband has A permit, 560 e + 700e +500e = 1860 euros if your husband has B permit. If your husband's salary is not enough, you can also use your savings and funds equivalent to the aforementioned amount.

Hi, yes you can sponsor your own living costs. Your and your spouse's income and savings are considered as the income/saving of a same household. Just make sure you show funds and all documents related to the source of funds, eg. salary, business earnings, sale of property...
