Different companies have different eligibility criteria so, you need to check that. Better to upgrade your skills by 2nd year and start applying for internships from the beginning of 3rd year.

As an ECE Student from NIT Allahabad I think I can clear your doubt: Frankly, in Core electronics jobs a good company like Nvdia, Quallcomm, Ti can give you 22-30 at max (except apple which pays somewhere between 66 to 70) as a fresher. Whereas a software company pays you 50-80L even 1Cr. But when you are a seasoned employee (4-5y), your experience pays off and you can expect 60L at least.
